During the era of slavery in America, there were approximately 4 million Black slaves. One of the first individuals to own slaves in the colonies was a Black man. Overall, only about 1 percent of the American population owned slaves. The Southern slave states were primarily Democrat-run. Segregation was most prominent in those same states after the Civil War.
The Ku Klux Klan was founded by a Democrat. Following the Civil Rights Act, Democrats saw an opportunity to gain Black voters and began actively courting their support. In today's culture, you are more likely to hear a Democrat discussing race than a Republican. Republicans generally view people as individuals rather than through the lens of social or political group identity. While they acknowledge problematic elements exist within broader society, they do not always agree with them—and I absolutely disagree with those extremes myself.
Republicans typically emphasize the importance of the nuclear family and leading traditional American lives. There is nothing wrong with wanting to preserve those values and feeling pride in the nation you live in.
One of the biggest lies about slavery is the idea that White people ventured into the jungles of Africa to capture Africans. In reality, they mostly stayed on the shores and purchased slaves from other Africans. The practice of Africans enslaving other Africans had existed long before Europeans arrived on the continent. African tribes routinely enslaved members of rival tribes. Every race on the planet has been enslaved at some point in history—including White people. Every race has experienced enslavement, whether by their own people or by others. Most of the time (though not always), it had little to do with skin color. The primary drivers were economic: wealth, power, or both.
The biggest reason this argument will never work is that jury selection requires participation from both the prosecution and the defense. During jury selection, both sides question potential jurors to identify possible biases and determine whether they can be fair and impartial. The process is designed to eliminate jurors who may not be able to consider the evidence objectively.
Both the prosecution and the defense can seek to remove potential jurors for various reasons, provided those reasons are not based on protected characteristics such as race or gender. In this case, the prosecution removed three jurors who were of African American descent, but the stated reason was not their race. The reason given was that they were educators. Because the incident occurred on school grounds, the prosecution argued that educators might have difficulty remaining impartial.
One prospective juror of African American descent reportedly stated that they could not be impartial and would be biased. Additionally, the jury was not composed entirely of white jurors; approximately half of the jurors were white.
In the American legal system, a defendant's race does not legally require that the jury be made up of people of the same race. Jury selection is intended to produce an impartial panel rather than one that matches the defendant's demographic background.
Some argue that if a juror were to vote for acquittal solely because the defendant shared their race, rather than based on the evidence, it could undermine the fairness of the trial and potentially create grounds for legal challenges.
Regarding Karmelo Anthony, the argument is that an acquittal was unlikely because there were numerous witnesses who allegedly observed the stabbing. Supporters of this view contend that the evidence would make a conviction more likely. They also note that because he was a juvenile at the time of the offense, he would not face the same penalties that an adult defendant might face in a similar case. From this perspective, he should accept responsibility, serve any sentence imposed by the court, and focus on improving his life in the future.
do they need priority seating if yes then yes. if no and they have no difficulty standing then no. if said person uses a walker or a cain that would qualify under priority seating. but if they walk normally onto the bus or train and seem to have no problem standing then no. maybe they want to stand. i also don't believe that women should be given a seat just because they are women. even if they are pregnant. why should I give up my seating because you decided to get pregnant. when I have been on a light rail train my trips are 45 minutes to an hour long im on the train long after most of the people on the train. definitely not giving up my seat to someone who has a different set of sexual organs then me or decided to have a kid. the biggest thing is there are many people with issues that are not visible. bad back or hip or neck. someone not giving up their seat to a pregnant woman is a choice. it very well could be a valid choice as well. the said individual shouldn't be ridiculed for making that choice. and even if they don't have an unseen issue. Why are you making it your business to get in their way of the choice that they make.
See, the biggest problem is you had a highly inaccurate view on the topic at hand and tried to make it about something completely different. But instead of letting the commentators educate you on the actual topic at hand you decide to be ignorant or stupid, or both. Instead of just letting somebody educate you. soaking in the knowledge and taking it all in. That right there tells me that you don't wanna be educated. You're very ignorant, it's making you look like a fool on the internet. I mean, you could take the knowledge and grow with it, or you can decide to wallow in your own bs. your own ignorance keeps you from being educated on a topic that you apparently knew nothing about. It's pretty much why you'll stay uneducated.
@PesoLxve@GamerLXXXVI@ClownWorld imagine being stupid and having a room temperature IQ. OH wait to late you already have it. considering that you didn't know 165 degrees kills all bacteria. that's elementary knowledge my boy.
The chances are that he's going to win, and in my opinion, he should. I'm a Republican leaning independent, and even I think this was wrong. The officer appears to have used a Taser on a man who was not resisting, making the drive-stun application seem unnecessary.
That said, he probably won't receive the full $20 million he's seeking. It's more likely that he'll either win a reduced award or reach an undisclosed settlement. In cases like this, plaintiffs rarely receive the full amount they sue for, and often they don't even receive half. Settlements and judgments can range anywhere from a few thousand dollars to several million.
Generally, the larger awards—often in the multimillion-dollar range—occur when someone is killed, though there are exceptions. For example, there was a case in which a man was awarded around $5 million after being tased multiple times by police, which triggered a seizure because he was prone to them.
Based on that, my guess is that if he receives compensation, it will likely be less than $5 million.
you are dumb any and all bacteria can't survive in temperature ls of 165 degrees. chicken that is the most toxic meat on this planet needs to be cooked at 165 internal temp to be considered safe to eat because of the bacteria and germs that are in chicken. no known bacteria could survive a pizza oven ride. it's not possible.
when I worked at a round table pizza we never used gloves. we washed our hands so much they were cleaner than the ingredients we were touching. you would wash your hands after being on the line and before going to the line. we would wash our hands so much the soap dries out your hands. the other thing is people are dumb and don't realize this pizza is going into a 400 to 600 degree oven as well. using gloves yeah it can help from spreading germs but the germs are not coming from the makers hands it's coming from the ingredients. gloves are just one more thing that can accidentally end up in the pizza. id be more concerned with a piece of the glove, whether it be latex or nylon or something ending up in the pizza. handwashing 300 times during a shift of making pizzas is pretty accurate number of times it happens. your food is completely sanitized as soon as it goes into the oven.
@obsrvate they played the footage in court in front of a jury. his family saw it in court. this wasn't the first time she saw it. don't spread misinformation. it's a known fact this video was key evidence for the prosecution.
@Nibiru1000 clown no joke simple assault does not mean you get to kill someone. metcalf would have had to have been punching him repeatedly or had a weapon himself to even consider deadly force. a push does not equal a stab.
looks like a5 Japanese waygu beef. it's like that on purpose. the fat on the inside is marbling and is considered healthy fat. marbling is intermuscular, fat that is worked on by muscles. the Japanese waygu cow is bread to have amazing meat it's so good grade a5 is like over 200 dollars a pound. if you can afford this beef definitely try it.
