@j_williams005@SwaggyCTV@TheDunkCentral@ringer Bird saved the league alongside Magic, while having the most impactful rookie season in NBA history, and paving the way for dudes like Steph, Dame, and the stretch 4. I can like with that choice.
@SwaggyCTV@TheDunkCentral@ringer Duncan is the undisputed best player at his position, Kobe is 1a/2 depending on how nuanced you wanna be talking about how many more types of defenses he adapted to vs MJ. Kobe is more marketable because heβs fun to watch. Be grateful we got to watch sheer excellence from both
@TKaostheory@MSREDMAMA1@WarlordDilley We tried this in the early 20th century and ended up with bread lines.. it's even in those shitty textbooks published in Texas for crying out loud
@Baseballplerrr @jwquick Before Dame left, we were 6th all time in win %, now we're 9th. We had a 30+ year streak of making the playoffs. The fan base has been spoiled compared to others in the league. This is only the second time we've had to truly do a ground up rebuild.
@NBA_NewYork@TravelGov@ABlinken 2/2 more importantly, heβs a former NBA player. Not only that, he played in the Mecca of Basketball. If this situation is what Noah Vonleh is saying it is then theyβll do far worse than that to an ordinary citizen
@NBA_NewYork 1/2 As a citizen whoβs considered working internationally, @TravelGov should probably get involved and discuss with the Central Gov to get their companies to honor their word. I may have to reconsider my future pursuits and maybe lobby others not to do so as well. @ABlinken
@BoutDameTime "Here we'll send you to go play with the 2nd best player in the world and reunite with Terry Stotts, a dude who you've always respected"
Sounds like a ton a disrespect to me lol
@AaronJFentress Do you believe the organization lied, or couldn't leverage a deal and was forced by the market to pivot? They telegraphed what they were doing really hard. Everyone knew what Portland wanted. Why wouldn't the rest of the market ice us out?
@blazers_palace Hate to burst that bubble, but the gap between Dame and Steph isn't as close as you think. Dame is a HoFer, Steph is a Mt Rushmore player. That alone makes it a GS favored series. Plus, the depth of GS with a prime Baron Davis, Chris Mullin. GS wins in 5, I say that as a pdx fan
@jpsperspective Regardless we telegraphed too heavily. The league (other GMs) knew if they just threw out ridiculous offers that Cronin wouldn't bite and Dame would be available.
