Teacher Librarians promote literacy in all its forms. One type of literacy is digital media literacy. In the Lougheed LLC we want to encourage students to learn the skill of podcasting. https://t.co/0dpNGHePI2 #ONSchoolLibrary#ShareYourLLC
@jsteeves71 @susinnielsen This is my setup. A 4-Channel sound mixer, a few $60 mics, some headphones, and a laptop to hook it up to. Software is Audacity for recording and editing, which is free.
@anonymousfish33 Harry Potter is well loved by my school community and, even though some titles were weeded because they were damaged, circulation data says that this series is relevant and interesting to my school community so it stays.
I’m a Peel Teacher-Librarian and I weeded thousands of books from my school collection last year. My shelves are far from empty. What I did was remove books that were damaged, growing mold, out of date or contained harmful stereotypical depictions on their covers.
@MatthewOldridge That’s the biggest problem with our public discourse these days. Too many seem to want the conflict that contentious headlines encourage, and corporations have figured out how to profit from it. The people who are rational and reasonable rarely get their say.
Removing these books made the space I needed to reorganize the collection into genres, and to have room to place book bins on the shelves which serves my students in making it easier for them to find the books they love.
More #WarOfTheRing painting progress. Now I’ve completed one of each type of Free People’s units. Now that’s 22 painted, 182 to go. https://t.co/syykbku7yV
Some more progress on that #WarOfTheRing project. I painted one copy of each type of the “red” minis so that they can be more easily recognized on the board. 7 minis down only 197 to go. https://t.co/R6cj4pGrPl
More minis from #cthuhludeathmaydie this time the brave investigators attempting to thwart the designs of the nefarious designs of Cthulhu. 1 of 2 https://t.co/EU04RlYS0z
@JBradshaw01 Apparently this is how things used to go. Contract years were not the huge media circus events that they’ve become over the past ten years. However given how adversarial this govt is I’m nervous too.
@RudyCuzzetto@Sflecce@ONeducation I don't think your stats are correct. The population of Ontario has increased about 2M over the past 20 years, the number of schools has also increased. Unless class size has drastically decreased over the last 20 years, there could not possibly be the same number of students.
