@clothedvillainy I may be unique among media owners that both in my time as an owner of Mumbrella and now Unmade I’ve given them more money than the other way round
Media companies are struggling, but should taxpayers bail out journalism?
In today’s Friday Fight, @UnmadeAU owner @timburrowes argues yes: https://t.co/bMMD0Tjn99
While professor of economics @chrisberg argues no: https://t.co/ASgjVYK7Mb

@NeilMcMahon@JamesCridland You’re absolutely right - if memory serves, just three weeks of ten in the last survey, and eight out of ten this time around. So it’s a reasonable scorecard of where they are now.
My hunch is they’ll find a tribe in Melbourne just as they did in Sydney but will take time
@NeilMcMahon I think that’s my main point on personality - they haven’t got to win over most people, just be the biggest / most listened to personalities by 10 or 11% of the audience
@NeilMcMahon It’s early days: this trip, 94.1% of the average audience chose something else. I’d be surprised if that number gets higher. They haven’t got to win 100% - they’ve just got to be distinctive enough to get it down to (only!) 89% choosing something else to be no 1. They’ve got time
One for media nerds: If you're looking for a great summary of the annual Uni of Canberra Digital News Report @timburrowes is well worth a read (note: paywall) https://t.co/Y6tSkO9TXL
