@BenGreenJeru@CAMERAorgUK You can see it mimics a snooker shot and he got a yellow card for removing the corner flag. Because it was his second yellow card, he was given a red card. Most interesting of all is that he is an Arab playing for Israel
@PaulEmbery If COVID is taken into account and the (resisted) pressure from outside, including media, to spend and restrict even more, they should be judged differently. Woke and acceptance of Blair’s reforms is a weakness though.
@NMonkey73@EllaTravelsLove Of course but the Ottoman Empire collapsed and all the territories/countries were hanging in the air - no longer governed by the Ottomans. The British and French did what they could, obviously with their own interests in mind but none of it became colonies of either.
@SBarrettBar Has anybody given an understandable reason to do this? Neither following a UN court’s recommendation nor an undisclosable national interest is convincing -but so many Labour leaders are prepared to go along with it.
@EllaTravelsLove We will have to disagree. My understanding is that Britain never considered it a part of Empire and there wasn’t any gain in it. They faced a lot of violence with no gain. From the outset they were supportive of a state of Israel but clearly underestimated the task.
@EllaTravelsLove Palestine was never a part of the British Empire. Britain ( not the Empire) had a mandate from the UN to oversee and find a political solution to Palestine but it failed. British soldiers got killed and Britain handed the mandate back.
