@HankDesmondPhD This must be a piss-take account masquerading as serious. If so very clever as only in America could anyone have to give serious thought as to whether this is satire or not - mainly because many really are this borderline nuts over there…!
@DrNeilStone Yes - let’s reintroduce Smallpox, your immune system will have zero issues eradicating it from your body just like the millions of others who were completely unaffected by it over the millennia…
@DavidDack I admit avoiding park runs for this very reason. If others are out running I find it very difficult to run my own run without getting caught up in what others may be doing. It’s not an ego thing, rather a difficulty in focus.
@BSmithBenS Oh fuck! - does that mean all the running I’ve been doing over the last five years is all for nothing as I’m really dead? -shit I wish somebody had told me!
@Donny1293520@MagnusLindbrg It sounds grand as one big number - but break it down weekly and it’s only around 84Km average. But yeah I’ve managed to stay consistent over the years so I’m thankful for that!
@LermRudi13136@hawk3187@MagnusLindbrg Heya - I’m generally a midfoot striker for most runs with a slight shift forward when doing up tempo workouts. Additionally I’m a mild supinator as opposed to most who pronate. I believe that has something to do with never sustaining injury.
@hawk3187@MagnusLindbrg Yes but all other things being equal regular running does not guarantee damaged or arthritic joints in the future. Humans are meant to move. Most injuries are caused by people either doing too much too soon or catastrophic departures from regular running form
@mindys4biden Republicans will go to any lengths to force women to give birth, but once they’ve done so they will not lift a finger to support that child throughout its life. They are all principle and no practise. This is why they are no good on practical economics, all rhetoric no substance
@BSmithBenS It almost begs the return of the likes of Smallpox and polio. We could release it into anti vax neighbourhoods and watch them heroically destroy it with virtue signalling and uneducated chest beating….
@Likaridin@MagnusLindbrg He started in 1946 shortly after the war (no decent running shoes then) and ran regularly until a few years before his death in 2016. -But look at myself I’ve logged 185000km of running in my lifetime and am none the worse for wear. I’ve never even had a mild injury from running
@Likaridin@MagnusLindbrg You couldn’t be more wrong. If you invest in the correct running shoes for your biomechanics and run in a sensible and sustainable manner there is no reason your knees will degenerate. My grandfather stopped running in his 90s due to old age but his knees were fine!
@DavidDack For most treadmill is a valuable tool when outside conditions don’t allow a run. The only problems I’ve seen is a few who exclusively run on a treadmill at first then transition outside. Impact and shock through the body is so much more prevalent outside.
@realCarola2Hope And yet I see that you live within and take full advantage of what an organised community with governance can provide you with? People like you make me sick. If you are true to your contentions then get out of our “brainwashed” community and live in the forest.
@stevieervin@19Phranchize Did you say “follow Jesus”? -how is following a fictional character going to assist with health issues? That sentiment belies the type of stupendous ignorance which led to the likes of Trump being elected…
@Keith_Leonard That’s the irony Keith, I don’t actually “enjoy” running - or ever experience that runners high many speak of. I do it as a form of self discipline and alone time. - plus I can justify eating a large block of chocolate in one go!
@Keith_Leonard Thank you! -it sounds impressive as one big number but in reality it’s only 85km each week split over 6 runs. I have been fortunate to not sustain injury though. It takes me longer to recover these days but I’ll continue on for as long as the body gives me the thumbs up
