The International Space Station passing in front of the full ‘wolf’ moon last night, from Sutton Coldfield 🔭
It’s large as it’s slightly closer to earth at 418km. Moon is 384,400km, so these things don’t happen that often in your back garden 🤯😂

Just saw the strangest thing fly over Birmingham UK, I thought it was a plane but it looked like a single dot with mist around it and a line of dots next to it travelling at the same speed! When I looked through binoculars it appeared to speed up. I am assuming a Starlink launch?
@RoughleySpeakin Yeah I think it’s the space x rocket flying over, must have just released the starlinks as that is what I could see in a line above it

Can you believe The Octagon topped out nearly 7 months ago?
This is an incredible throwback showing our brilliant Birmingham from 155 metres in the air. Thanks for sharing these @timcornbill.

Wow, these photos are fantastic! They were taken atop The Octagon last year, aren't they incredible? 🛑
Thanks for capturing the city's brilliance @mgrowcoot, @timcornbill, @/insta.brum1.

Up on THE roof
Huge thanks to @ParadiseBham for inviting me to the top of the tallest building in Birmingham, the Octagon. It was a huge privilege to be among the group of photographers shooting the sunset last night and sunrise this morning 🙌
Loads more photos to come…
Did anyone spot this amazing huge 22 degree Lunar Halo last night?
I’ve pushed the saturation & detail to bring out the rainbow and also the even rarer Parhelic Circle - a horizontal line which would stretch all around the horizon

Equipment
It goes without saying you need a long telephoto lens to achieve this, as well as a capable & relatively high res camera. I used a Sony a7riv and Sony 200-600 lens, but they’re not necessarily the best combo for this shot
So maybe it wasn’t that lucky after all!
It’s the #SuperBlueMoon tonight and it’s a year since I captured this plane passing over it. I had a load of people say I was extremely lucky to get this shot.
So was it pure luck?? Here’s what into shooting something like this…
Edit
Given the rush to get this shot I almost missed it off the edge of the frame, it was right in the corner. I had to crop it and then made a few tweaks to make the silhouette darker and bring out some detail in the moon by adjusting the contrast. It’s a raw file so it’s easy
