@GeorgeMonbiot@Bobster49213538 111 I believe is a HUGE part of the problem. Before it existed you probably wouldn’t have ended up in A&E, or let’s say a 50% chance. Once you dialled that number you were going there. 100%. There’s no way that algorithm was ever going to say just stick it out George.
@TraffordCouncil any chance of some gritting at the end of Park Lane in Hale? The road is on a slope and is sheet ice. There’s no way of preventing sliding directly onto Park Road - the main road. Miracle there hasn’t been a serious side impact accident. More by luck than design
@AvantiWestCoast totally shocking. Piccadilly to Euston 11.11 - every seat taken - why are first class tickets still being sold if services constantly declassified? Totally opportunistic to reduce train frequency. We all know it was working perfectly well before dec’n taken 1/
Set the precedent for using circumstances to blatantly row back from contractual commitments and promises made in the winning of the contract in the first place 4/
What’s it achieve? Increase the pressure on striking staff by providing fewer overtime opportunities. Create tension on services that are running by overcrowding and putting staff on the receiving end 3/
Is it too cynical to think that in the context of the irritating but sporadic industrial action, an opportunity has been grasped to increase the profitability by reducing frequency? 2/
@Jacqui_Smith1@IainDale @forthemanypod Supplementary : it seems to me that without at least one of the alleged parties, many people wouldn’t have been able to appreciate the newly redecorated flat..which beings me to my question - what’s worse, the parties or the flat? Thanks. Tim Davies
@Jacqui_Smith1@IainDale @forthemanypod Here’s one for you Jacqui & Ian. I watched Kier Starmer at PMQs this week and it seemed to me that he asked the right questions, used the right words - but for some reason it still seemed ineffective. If you were advising him, what’s the one thing you’d try to get him to change?
@joshglancy@hzeffman I’d hazard a guess that this is more about employing a social media team than it is about Americanisation. Did the AoC feel so strongly about this that he immediately whipped out his iPhone? Or did someone who needs to report their engagement figures get too excited?
@turningleftfor@AdamWagner1 Yes. Agreed. It’ll be interesting to see how this plays out - as the Welsh first minister has been clear on multiple occasions that he is relying on ENGLISH rules to prevent people entering Wales when he opens up self-contained accommodation from 29th March.
@GBRChris_A @GeorgePeretzQC @AdamWagner1 @fmwales Expect either a Welsh restriction on people resident in England entering without a reasonable excuse - similar to the previous ⛔️ for Tier 2,3 areas under old regs but for ALL England, OR a swift reversal of the decision to open self-contained from 29th? Blame case numbers?
@AdamWagner1 That’s the way I read it too. @fmwales was relying on English ‘stay local / no overnight stays’ when he said through a smirk that English couldn’t make use of self contained accom from 29th Mar. Now the guidance has been enshrined in law it says no such thing.
