@humanprovince@merrycrisis24 lol monopolizing arms = threatening civil war. You’re ironically defending a Shiite militia monopolizing violence over the entire country
@minakelada87@Time123On sovereignty over your territory sure
yet you couldn’t send aid via the Rafah border cz israel didnt allow it
worry about your own country🫶
Now we have one side saying that going the Tehran route would've been better. And others saying going to Washington is a better idea. The reality is that both are a massive gamble and likely result is shit regardless. Frankly, it's a pointless debate because all the people in power can do is either look east or west. But that's all they can do: turn their cheek to one side or the other. We're getting slapped regardless. It's just a question of who's hand you're going to feel on your face.
Some have been screaming at the top of their lungs for years that things are gonna keep getting worse. And somehow, some people are still surprised. We're supposed to be okay with a political class that has run out of options and the ability to make actual decisions for once. On the other hand, Hezbollah, who has absolutely no vision for the future beyond repeating meanigless slogans and pushing a delusional narrative that has no connection to reality.

Anyone who thought that Lebanon was gonna get out of this situation with a "good deal" in Washington or some form of Israeli withdrawal under Iranian pressure was misled. Decades of inaction and stupidity and 3 years of war and destruction against a vastly more powerful enemy tend to have disastrous consequences. But, hey, the diaspora is coming to spend some $ in the country this summer. So everything will be fine. There's no need to worry.

Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun says Iran is not allowed to interfere in his country’s internal affairs: “Other countries are trying to help us, but you are not trying to help us. You are destroying the country for the sake of your own interests.”
