@Darran31123261@RayLangford6119@G0ldenStandard@BBCNews They can’t ‘get rid’ of the BBC for a while. Current charter ends in 2027 so their new charter will run from 2027 through to 2037. To dismantle that Charter could only be done via the courts. They could cut off the BBCs funding but that would just bring around privatisation
@Donal4852295@teemaa_5 They sort of do, it's not unheard of for a few chaps to turn up on a chopper from a gun friendly territory to escort a ship through a certain area and they then dump their arms overboard before they reach port
@Donal4852295@teemaa_5 Sadly doesn't work like that, most countries who disallow guns disallow the ownership so even locked down the Captain/ship would be breaking local laws by having possession of them aboard the ship.
@darrengrimes So the school teacher incident that happened in Batley was 5 years ago under a Tory government but somehow this is Labours fault, how does that work?
@teemaa_5@DorianMichelle1 Really depends in which territory, but across all territories 'finders keepers' doesn't work. If you can recover it you might be able to claim a salvage reward(% of the value of the goods) depending on the goods
@DorianMichelle1@teemaa_5 I hate shipping containers that have fallen of cargo ships. They lose around 1500 a year and, unless damaged, they can take months to sink and their last stage is just below the surface. So if you are out at sea in a fibreglass boat you really hope you don't find one.
@Donal4852295@teemaa_5 Because every country has different firearms regulations and as ships/boats don't constantly stay in international waters so they would be at risk of breaking local laws each time they enter territorial waters
@Mick_O_Keeffe You should remove Luxembourg as it's an outlier, most of the population shift is EU nationals moving there to work in the financial services industry rather than incomers from further afield.
@Hellzapop_in@Ericdun19416783 Largest concentration of data centres in the South East are around Slough and Reading quite a distance from Whitstable. Kent’s issue is boom in house building but no significant infrastructure upgrades so demand and loss of water during hot temperatures leads to shortages
@JStaceyfarms@Anjuana55@linmeitalks That’s not true, there are various pathways to becoming a UAE citizen. For example by marriage after 7 years or for exceptional merit i.e Significant investment AED 2million+ or doctors, scientists, specialists, inventors, intellectuals, artists
@JStaceyfarms@Anjuana55@linmeitalks So then they should get a rebate of the percentage of tax that they have paid that goes to cover the welfare state then.
@JStaceyfarms@Anjuana55@linmeitalks You said no benefits for foreigners should be applied retrospectively or would you expect the rules to be implemented that so can and some can't apply for benefits?
@JStaceyfarms@Anjuana55@linmeitalks You've not been reading the thread then, I have a lot of friends and colleagues that are foreign nationals, most are paying as much tax or more than the UK average salary per year. The employers would have no problem moving their contracts to another country.
