Fox!Hinako never really goes away in any of the endings, does she? She reappears after her boss battle in chtr, subsumes Hinako in fw, vanishes from the narrative in fwit (the mural puzzle for that ending “shadow follows close behind her” implies she’s still around

Done with the 4 main story endings of Silent Hill f! I find the final ending very.. open-ended so to say. I’d compare it to the My Future Self school assignment in Hinako’s room that’s just a blank page. More thoughts on EiS below but overall this game has an iron grip on me

I feel like with EiS we’ve entered a sorta liminal/transitional space where neither Hinako knows what she will choose next, nor do we because this is her choice and we the player have no involvement in it. Of note is that theres no closure with Shu in this compared to FW and FWIT
