unpopular take but women need to stop apologizing for liking the stuff their gender is associated with. fanfiction, pop concerts and pink isn't cringe or guilt pleasure or dumb. it's fun and exciting and sometimes amazing. we get to have that too.
Maybe it’s just me, but I’d much rather have an entire Somali immigrant family with two happy trans kids living right next door to me than a white supremacist or a racist MAGA lunatic any day of the week.
I just want my whole nervous system to finally rest in 2026. I want my heart to stop racing every day, I want to get out of that constant fight-or-flight mode, and I just want real peace. I’m begging for a year where my spirit can breathe, my mind can slow down, and my life finally makes sense along with the people that’s in it.
Why I broke up with a boyfriend in my 20s. We both worked with the guy who physically assaulted me at a bar on our night off, but bf wasn’t there and he wanted to “keep the peace” at work by staying friendly with the guy. It’s with me or against me in these situations, folks.
Telling a woman who was a victim of abuse that her experiences aren't valid because you've had a positive interaction with her abuser is one of the lowest, most disgusting things you can do.
@recovery_your YEP. I finally started actual trauma therapy, instead of basic therapy, at 42 years old and it’s been life changing having a professional validate my pain without excusing my parents. I can love the dad I remember in good times & still call him a dick. Both can be true. And are.
Can we stop minimizing childhood trauma with “they did their best”?
Sometimes “their best” caused DAMAGE. And it wasn’t good enough.
You can love your parents and still acknowledge the harm.
Both can be true.
I'm gonna come clean: I hate 'hopeful ending' as a trope almost as much as I hate 'ambiguous/open ending'. If I engage with a piece of art, I don't want to have to imagine anything. Tell me the story!
Castle + Psych, would be my addendum if you’ll allow. Morgan is Shawn Spencer without all of the schtick; Adam is arguably the Juliet, often exasperated but forever impressed. Plus, this is Harthan-written with Roday directing plenty — their 8+ years of Psych are obvious in HP.
and I'd add guns to this because i went to a catholic school for 12 years so i'm indoctrinated enough to stand here and say pro life is not compatible with being okay with guns much less guns being readily accesible to everyone
