@RupaHuq I also just read on here that you called an MP "superficially black"? That is incredibly racist. I will assume it did not happen as I know that we all know that language has no place in 2026. Moreover, reducing someone's worth the amount of melonin in their skin is pointless.
@rupahuq I am yet to understand how these donations were to @Nigel_Farage when they were directed to @reformparty_uk. Moreover, beyond the fact it was more money, how is this any different than money donated to @UKLabour by other sources, including the Trade Unions. I don't ask this as a Reform supporter.
Robinhood does not deal in "fake stock tokens." When you buy a share on their app, you are buying actual common stock cleared through standard, regulated US clearinghouses. Conflating Robinhood with shady offshore crypto setups like FTX’s old tokenised stocks is just flat-out incorrect. I guess with Robinhood you could find controversy through Payment for Order Flow (PFOF). Robinhood routes your trades to big market makers like Citadel, who pay for that order flow to pocket the bid-ask spread. You can argue whether PFOF hurts retail pricing—that’s a fair debate.
@KrisPatel99 In the UK, the investor class is tiny and retail basically get their “moves” from US news sources when it comes to individual stocks. The FTSE 100 is an index that most swerve now with Vanguard’s VWRP being the set and forget of choice.
I see what you’re aiming at with earnings driving sentiment, but be careful about drawing a macro shift from a single session—routine daily mechanics often explain these moves.
It’s also tough to separate earnings from rate hikes, because valuation is ultimately future cash flows discounted by interest rates. Even with strong earnings growth, higher yields mechanically compress those multiples. Definitely worth looking at the whole picture rather than just the daily print.
