"One of the criticisms I've faced over the years is that I'm not aggressive enough or assertive enough, or maybe somehow, because I'm empathetic, I'm weak. I totally rebel against that. I refuse to believe that you cannot be both compassionate and strong." - Jacinda Ardern
If you truly believed you are good enough, how would you spend the rest of today? Even if you don’t believe you are, could you do those things regardless?
You might be afraid that treating yourself with compassion and kindness will make you weak or indulgent. Don't worry! If you don't like self-compassion, your inner critic will be all too happy to be back in charge at any moment! It won't be hard to return to beating yourself up.
