What’s interesting is that Hyacinthus was loved by Apollo, while Clytie’s love for him was unrequited. I wonder if this could be meant to symbolize something about these two characters. On top of that, the genders of the two figures are reversed compared to the original myths🧡🩷

Oh, I just read my friend’s theory about the flowers. Apparently, both the hyacinth and the sunflower are connected to the god Apollo in Greek mythology 🌻🪻

It originated from a beautiful prince named Hyacinthus, who was loved by Apollo. He died in an accident while playing a sport, so Apollo created the hyacinth flower from his blood as a memorial to mourn his death
