WEARE, N.H. — Republican congressional candidate Lily Tang Williams today called on Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander to answer a simple question: Does she support Maine Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Graham Platner in light of the constant national news coverage and growing controversy surrounding his campaign?

This top-tier Senate race is happening just over our border. The latest allegations that Platner was physically abusive to his partners are very serious and disturbing. As national and state Democrats continue to rally around Platner's Senate bid, voters deserve to know whether Goodlander, as a woman herself, stands with him and supports his candidacy. Additionally, will Maggie Goodlander condemn organizations that support her, like VoteVets, for also propping up Graham Platner?

"Granite Staters always deserve transparency and honesty from their elected officials," said Williams. "Graham Platner is looking to join Maggie as part of the New England delegation in Congress. Maggie Goodlander should tell voters whether she stands with Graham Platner and whether she believes he is fit to represent Maine in the United States Senate."

"If Maggie Goodlander is willing to campaign alongside Graham Platner, raise money for him, or endorse him, the people of New Hampshire have a right to know," Williams continued. "If she believes his conduct or actions are disqualifying, she should say that too. Remaining silent is not leadership."

Lily Tang Williams emphasized that accountability should apply equally to politicians of both parties. "Public officials should be held to the same standards regardless of party affiliation," said Williams. "Independent-minded Granite State voters expect their leaders to speak clearly and honestly when questions arise about the character and conduct of candidates seeking higher office."

Williams called on Rep. Goodlander to publicly state whether she supports Platner's candidacy and whether she intends to endorse, campaign for, or assist his Senate campaign.
