Spoken like a clueless democrat talking about economic and tax policy. In business, one calculates profit as revenue minus expenses. So, while Iran’s revenue may be up, I would venture a guess their expenses (in for form of destroyed infrastructure) has greatly exceeded any increase in revenue, resulting in an overall net loss.
From on the onset, this was expected to be a 4-6 week operation - 8 weeks on the high end. This takes us until about May 1st. President Trump is limited by the 60 days in the Wars Power Act he is currently operating under (with a 30 day extension for safe removal of troops). Politically - and legally, this ends around May 1st. Until then - Bombs away.
And the other kicker - If you and your spouse die while waiting until 70, your kids (assuming all are 18 or older) get NOTHING.
Also, since the working poor generally have a lower life expectancy than fluorescent office jockeys, this is the greatest generational wealth stealer of the working poor. If this money was instead in a personally owned 401k or the like, any residual balance would be inherited by their children. With Social Security, the government gets the inheritance.
I had a comprehensive (not just catastrophic) BCBS HMO policy for $150/month with a $5,000 deductible - and that was an elevated premium due to my less than ideal BMI and family cancer history. My first year on Obamacare, my premium doubled to $300, but now included a “free”annual exam (for an extra $1,800 in annual premiums). The next year my premium bumped up a little, but I was forced out of a PPO and into a more restrictive HMO. And my premium increased to over $600 the following year and has just kept going up since then. My inflation adjusted premium would be about $210 today, but it is now north of $1,400 - It’s the UNAffordable Care Act.
@AlexBerenson@Mark_Penn He’s about right - Politically. This will be over in 4-6 weeks from the onset - 8 weeks tops, so by May 1st. If not, the already shaky midterms for Republicans will be a bloodbath. Oh wait, are we still allowed to use that term?!?! 🤪
Here’s why the markets don’t care: They view this as a temporary blip on the global economy - a blip that will be over by May 1st, if not sooner. From the onset, Trump has declared this to be a weeks long excursion. He did campaign against “forever wars” and thus this will end by the end of next month. If not, Trump and the Republicans will be decimated in the November midterms.
We’re ending the 2nd week of a 4 to 6 week operation- maybe it goes until the end of April. It’ll be over by then, or whatever political capital Trump has left will evaporate. After 47 years whining about a problem, a US president has finally acted. Presidents since Clinton promised to move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Avi to Jerusalem, yet only one president did it - President Donald J. Trump! 🇺🇸
@AlexBerenson Is it the coffee bean - or the caffeine? I take my morning caffeine cold and carbonated - Diet Coke (which other studies seems to claim it has its own issues as well).

Austin, Texas (Jan. 30) — Left-wing protesters march to demand open borders and the end of immigration enforcement in the U.S.
@MarioNawfal Kind of reminds you how the Biden Administration went after those associated with January 6th - including those not even present in DC on Jan6. 🤔
No more than SNAP benefits are - which again are highly restricted. There are currently no restrictions on these credits. Paying them monthly - to supplement their earned income - would likely improve their financial lot in life - which was effectively proven when they predated the CTC during COVID under Biden.
Also, by paying this monthly instead of lump sum, the federal government can essentially save over $1B a year. Seems like a win-win. Save the government money (us taxpayers) - while smoothing out payments to the needy.
They are NOT paying federal income tax. They are pay $0.00 net federal income tax. Their “refund” is not a refund of taxes withheld - it’s a payment - much like SNAP - Which is highly regulated on what it can be spent on. These “refundable” EITC and CTC payments should be no different.
Hey, let’s take Big Daddy Government out picture completely and eliminate both the EITC and the CTC. Problem solved.
@KWheatley1@ResisttheMS NO, it is your and my tax dollars they are spending. This is not money they earned. We restrict when and how SNAP benefits are spent, we should do the same here. $800/month will buy plenty of shoes and cover a used car payment, insurance and gas.
