Watched this yesterday and felt sad. It was the personification of the wealth experience in Nigeria.
The appearance of opulence but the reality was tacky and impractical

Hi @Shalom_HeyEliy, I'm a designer and a big fan of Lagos Life
I noticed a gap: no page shows the game before you sign up, or shows brands how the ads work
So I designed and built one. Unofficial, and it's yours

Now that the congratulations have whistled down a little, let me give some context. (Read to the end.)
A regular Master’s can cost anywhere from €1,000 to €20,000+ a year, depending on the country and school. An MBA is a completely different beast.
My IESE MBA costs €114,000 in tuition alone. About ₦185 million.
That’s why many scholarships that fully fund regular Master’s programmes (tuition, living expenses, travel, etc.) either cap their MBA funding or exclude MBAs altogether.
Chevening, for example, provides funding for Master’s programmes, but caps its MBA tuition contribution at £22,000.
Erasmus Mundus specifically funds Joint Master’s programmes, not MBAs. (don’t wreck them 😅)
So when you see someone willing to put over €100,000 into your education, it is a BIG deal.
And when I said I received a 100% scholarship to IESE, I meant exactly that. My scholarship covers 100% of my €114,000 tuition fee.
What it doesn’t cover, however, is my living expenses. So I’m sorting out rent, food and everything else myself.
Which brings us back to my “Blessing Private Placement” exercise from months ago. You remember? 😅
Yes, people actually subscribed.
That was largely to help me fund the living-expense side of this journey. A number of people here have known about my MBA since then because I privately sent them my proposal.
I haven’t completely figured out the living-expense part yet, but I’m positive I will.
The hardest part has been solved. I got here, and my tuition is fully covered. Now I’m just figuring out how to live here.
And since it’s public now, I feel comfortable attaching the original fundraising exercise for anyone who wants to see it, laugh at the audacity of it all 😅, or feels compelled to add their quota.

To anyone wondering why it is difficult for real estate entrepreneurs to reach the very top of the global wealth rankings, real estate is simply capital-heavy and difficult to scale.
Two examples:
If someone builds the world's best apartment complex in Lagos, someone in New York can't live in it simultaneously. Neither can someone in Tokyo.
To serve them, the developer has to build another physical asset.
Compare that with a Google (or say another tech company) who can build its search technology once and serve billions of additional searches around the world. The incremental infrastructure cost is meaningful, but nowhere close to building a new physical property for every additional group of customers.
Every additional layer of growth requires significant capital. That usually means more debt or outside equity, so a developer can control an enormous portfolio without personally owning all that equity.
The return on invested capital is typically low.
Even Harry Triguboff had to compound for over 60 years to get here.
Some of you will choose Isaac Newton over Jehovah because you believe in God-given intellect more than you believe in the God that gives the intellect.
Because somehow, you are convinced that because solutions for material advancement are embedded within those ideas that they are somewhat superior to the God that is omniscient.
That’s why the good book says “…Casting down imaginations and any thought that raises itself above the knowledge of God”
Get academic and professional knowledge. Get understanding. Get training. But know your limits when it comes to God.
Mercy doesn’t mean God is foolish or weak.
Mercy doesn’t mean God is helpless
Mercy doesn’t mean you’ll always escape
Mercy doesn’t mean you’ll always be spared
Mercy doesn’t mean push things too far
If you’re so wise, deliver yourself and your own household first. Physically and spiritually. Try
Every Nigerian deserves to be found. Every business deserves the chance to reach its customers. And every community deserves to be within reach of opportunity.
Today, we are launching the National Digital Alphanumeric Postcode System by @NipostNgn , a significant step towards a Nigeria where your location connects you to more possibilities.
Think of the small business ready to deliver beyond its neighbourhood, the family waiting for emergency help and the community that government needs to reach with essential services.
An accurate postcode can make a meaningful difference in each of these lives.
As we work towards H.E. President @officialABAT’s ambition for a $1 trillion economy, we must build the foundations that allow more Nigerians to participate, trade and prosper. This is one of those foundations, and I am deeply excited about what we can build with it.
Please find your postcode here - https://t.co/GnUieOIwWp and start using it.
Share this video, encourage your family and friends to find theirs, and help us take this message into every community.
I also want to hear from you: Was finding your postcode easy? Have you started sharing and using it? What would you like it to make possible for you, your business or your community?
Share your experience in the comments because your feedback will help us make this work better for everyone.
Let’s put our communities on the map and bring opportunity closer to every Nigerian.
I think what makes this story more depressing & alarming than him being an “American Idol alum” is that Caleb Flynn was a worship pastor.
And despite having a wife & two children, something many men long for, Flynn decided he wanted more than what God gave him.
He started having an affair with a woman at his church. Text messages show that they became obsessed with each other, & Flynn began to despise his wife.
But despite hating his wife, Flynn refused to divorce her because he didn’t want to lose his kids, his reputation, nor his job (his father-in-law gave him a job working for him). But his affair partner would not keep seeing him unless they divorced, so he decided to murder his wife.
It’s a devastating reminder of what sin takes from us. Caleb went from lust, to betrayal, to adultery, to murder.
And now his wife is dead. His children are without both parents. His affair partner has been exposed and her life is ruined. And of course, Caleb ruined his own life.
“Sin is crouching at the door. Its desire is for you, but you must rule over it.”
Been really enjoying @eureka_seamless's Danfo game, so I made my own version.
Play as a Swoop delivery rider in Lagos: pick up orders from stores, dodge kekes, and collect powerups!
I just wasted two hours playing:
