Some personal news:
- I was elected Mayor of Middleburgh, New York, last Tuesday.
Defeating my opponent 216-178 in a hotly contested election, we focused on infrastructure, getting things done on a local level, and providing experienced and competent leadership in office.
NEW: The U.S. House is expected to vote on a Ukraine aid bill in early June after lawmakers bypassed Speaker Johnson, a source tells me.
The bipartisan bill would expand sanctions on Russia and approve additional military and financial aid for Kyiv.

This is basically my position on a potential war with Iran: not necessarily opposed, but where is the argument to the American people and to Congress that this is in our best interest?
Gov. Shapiro on Iran:

We need one more signature to vote on a discharge petition to force a vote for more weapons to Ukraine and tough sanctions on Russia. I’ve signed and have been working to get the 218th signature needed.
The tickets offered by Democrats and Republicans for this year's New York Gubernatorial Election are just flavors of mediocrity.
Whereas Hochul/Adams are known mediocrity, Blakeman/Hood are unknown mediocrity.
Twenty million New Yorkers and these are the four we get. Oof.
I am not particularly thrilled or impressed with either Democratic choice for Lt. Governor here in New York. It appears the prerequisite for consideration was being a failed candidate for Mayor.
Given how her previous two Lieutenant Governors have fared in the job, I cannot imagine there is a long waiting list to serve in the worst office in New York State.
Per sources familiar, Gov. Hochul approached Brooklyn DA Eric Gonzalez about being LG a few weeks ago, requesting he submit vetting materials. Sources say he has not made a decision on what he would do yet. @bern_hogan reported Jamaal Bailey and Donovan Richards said no to Hochul
