@lukerobertblack@CornCJ The UUP outpolled the DUP in 2021 (16%-13%). At the Assembly election in 2022, the DUP outpolled the UUP by 21%-11%. It is of course significant but it is a snapshot and you can't read too much into it.
24 hours ago Declan Kearney was on the airwaves telling everyone that business representatives were ‘misinformed’ and ‘being alarmist’. Now his Minister has u-turned.
Sinn Fein are all over the place.

Michelle O'Neill is taking her electorate for fools. Pie in the sky promises of delivering "unity" fade fast - it always has.
When one promised date passes, another magically appears. No amount of aspirational fantasy will mask their utter failure.
- In 1974 the Provisional IRA produced a poster predicting that this year would be “the year of victory”.
- In 1998 after the Belfast Agreement was signed Sinn Fein briefed the Irish media that it would lead to a united Ireland within 15 years;
- Gerry Adams in 2011 predicted that Northern Ireland would have left the Union by 2016.
- In August 2021, Gerry's crystal ball must have shown a different date, and 2016 became 2024.
- In May 2022, Mary Lou McDonald called for a border poll by 2027, but by July 2022, this had shifted to 2030.
- In February 2024, Michelle O’Neill again moved the goalposts, calling for a border poll by 2034.
The Communities Committee's latest cunning plan comes unstuck when it meets some actual legal advice.
A truly embarrassing decision - by all those who voted for it but then had to quietly climb down yesterday.

@NewtonEmerson They haven’t had a majority on the Council in Ballymena since MEABC was established in 2014 and there has been a huge surge of new families in the time since. And Colin Crawford is a North Antrim MLA 🙂
@Choyaa13@SuzyJourno Troubled spell? He’s the first Minister to bring forward a Housing Supply Strategy, Anti-Poverty Strategy and Sign Language Bill. He finally unlocked the NI Football Fund. Can think of many other examples. He’s arguably delivered more than any other Minister this year.

🟣Ahead of World Autism Awareness Day, Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 speaks to @duponline MLA Cheryl Brownlee.
🟡She details what home life is like for her and how proud she is of her son.
🔴The MLA says awareness is always needed, highlighting the work of @CalebsCauseNI and understands the concerns of any parent in her position.
🔵She says Stormont "can always do more" and hopes her "lived experience" can help on that level.
I am deeply proud of my identity and the rich cultural heritage of my traditions. Too often, it has been attacked, opposed and demeaned.
The appointment of a Commissioner for the Ulster-Scots and Ulster British tradition will be a game-changer. The reset starts now.
Appointments process open now!
🚨🙌Hugs for Minister @gordonlyons1 as Second Stage of the Sign Language Bill marks "historic event" for the Deaf community in Northern Ireland.
🎤🎥Mr Lyons told Chief Reporter @jamesgould23 for too long the deaf community has felt left behind and today is a step closer to changing that.
🫂The Minister was greeted in the Great Hall to hugs and even got a quick lesson in Sign.
