The protection and respect we demand is not and should not be conditioned on your belief.

Your faith or belief is yours. You cannot impose on others how to rightfully 'practice' your faith or belief.

This is different when the community asks for its rights. Because it is hinged not on belief, but on the principle of equality of persons.
