It was in my top 15, I think the design is very unique and I appreciated how hard it is to grapple camo (have to expose yourself fully).
Since the map is a U effectively, the spawn system is very predictable and it’s hard to get out of a spawn trap with such open sightlines and primarily one direction to go in to exit each base spawn. (For instance the lift is very easy to kill people who use it). Really good art, and rooftop gameplay is fun overall
My recommendation would be to possibly have a loop route in the back of the red side to expand it a bit into the concrete slab middle area. It could replace or enhance the top red roof area when you are inside of it. That spawn is the most oppressive in my opinion.
Anyone found this Waterline Effect in Halo 5 oddly satisfying and convincing?🤗
-Top Water is low poly mesh and it doesn't move vertices. Shifting UVs does the "movement" for it.
-Waterline is another object against the window and it gives the illusion of the Top Water moving.
I deleted my tweet thread from yesterday. After receiving 30K views on the tweets, I know I can't unring the bell. I also want to make clear that I still stand by what I said, but would change how I delivered the message.
I should not have singled out specific individuals, while I found their speech incredibly frustrating, the discussion needs to be about a rubric for judging and providing feedback. I also could have DMd these two individually before picking a fight publicly.
I should not have mixed my opinions regarding the tone of ForgeHub Fridays into discussion about judging. That is irrelevant. My apologies to @Naded
My position from yesterday stands on these topics:
1. Judges should not be ending matches midway and not giving them a fair try. This happened on 3 maps in the vod
2. Judges should not be saying "I could do this in 5 mins" or "put this in the dogshit map pile" or calling a forger a "fucking dogshit retard"
3. Feedback should be constructive and considered, not flippant, and/or should be supplemented with written notes afterwards. There should be a clear rubric for judges to follow on how to score maps
4. Specific forgers should not be given the chance to jump into official playtesting sessions and sway opinion on the map they worked on. or actively exploiting other maps missing blockers, etc
All of this can and should improve. My intent here is not to teardown ForgeHub or say it shouldnt exist. I want more contests, it brings new forgers into the scene and tends to shake things up. I havent submitted to the last two, but I want to come back without feeling like my months of hard work won't be tossed aside in mere minutes.
@timmyforges Getting banned for pointing out an unfair and biased process is probably the most unfair and biased response they could give. The judge can act objectively worse than you and still be a judge, but you can't even be a contestant? 😐
Don’t even have a chance to prove myself in this contest, as frenchys seemingly convinced WAR to ban my account from the website. I can’t login. From my perspective this feels retaliatory and unfair, considering the studio is backing 50% of prizing. If I’m to be banned from entry for contest he 100% funds, that’s his prerogative, but this is different.
