I just got let go from my job due to another round of layoffs (& I’m a contractor)
If anyone can refer me to any positions, I’m looking for intermediate Analytics Engineer. Open to similar data positions. I’m basically a SQL jedi.
reposts are appreciated 🙏🏽 ty in advance
Imagine a tech conference having no CFP, as they reach out to speakers directly. They successfully attract some of the most heavy hitter men speakers in tech, and 3 women speakers.
Now imagine my surprise that 2 of those women are FAKE profiles.
They do not exist.
Nada.
@lizadixon But first and foremost, they should learn to always second-guess and verify sources, etc. Don't (directly) trust everything you see/hear/read (online). 😊
@lizadixon My simple-minded approach would consist of at least two steps:
- (current) limitations of AI such as glasses blending into the skin etc.
- build up enough knowledge to 'reverse engineer' the thought process of AI (if that makes sense)
@lizadixon IMHO, with AI tools it's even more essential to have an idea about how an AI operates. It's already used in everyday products. Kids should learn how to use these tools ethically and proficiently. However, they also need to know how to spot fakes/misinformation generated by AI.
@lizadixon I think it's important to learn how these tools work. I would've loved to learn how a calculator works in school (from a technical and a mathematical pov)😊.
@lizadixon In my experience, it's more helpful when used like a 'rubber duck'. State a problem and get possible angles for a solution. Asking it for actual code is often times generating too much overhead because one has to correct the generated code😅
🚨 Warning for Researchers 🚨
Tools like ChatPDF are NOT reliable!
They’re advertised as helping to consume scientific articles quicker, but their summaries can not be trusted; they often return beautiful misinformation aka very convincing info only an expert could ID as false
@lizadixon I'm quite happy with the yoke when it comes to counter-steering. IMO it's easier to tell the position of the tires. But I only had one "real" situation on an icy road 😅 Nevertheless, I'll attend a driver's training to get a better feeling for the car in extreme conditions.
We’re so proud to finally share the product of this 12+ months collaboration.

Whoa, GPT can do print debugging!
Transcript: https://t.co/SOy1L34Yi9
1) Ask GPT to add print statements to buggy code
2) Show it the resulting log
3) It uses the log to reason about the bug... just like a human!
