It's #NationalDisabilityEmploymentAwarenessMonth, and this is the reality for disabled people in the workforce. Disabled people deserve to thrive, but are disproportionately underrepresented in the labor force compared to nondisabled workers.
I have a spinal cord injury and 80% of my body doesn’t sweat as a result. Disabled folks with nerve and neurological damage or conditions are not building up any kind of tolerance to heat.
