Alternative Movement Commends @natpopcom on Progressive Legislative Development

The Alternative Movement takes full notice of the recent commendable development by the National Population Commission and extends its sincere commendation for this important step in advancing our national interest.

This development represents a positive example of how constructive engagement between public institutions and civic movements can yield meaningful results for the country. It is especially gratifying to us because the Alternative Movement invested significant effort, expertise, and advocacy in working toward an improved bill. Receiving formal commendation for this work is both encouraging and affirming.

Too often, the substantial and patriotic labour carried out by citizens and civic organisations driven solely by love of country goes unacknowledged. This recognition stands out as a welcome departure and sets the right tone for how national development efforts should be encouraged. This is the way to go.

The Movement also places on record its special commendation of Mr. Akinloye Olusegun, our in-house legislative drafter, who worked tirelessly under intense pressure to produce the technical and legislative documents that supported this process. His commitment, professionalism, and resilience were critical to the outcome achieved.

We wish to make it clear that we are not joking about nation-building. We continue to do the heavy lifting often without applause or expectation of reward because we believe deeply in the possibility of a greater, stronger, and more prosperous country.

The Alternative Movement remains committed to constructive engagement, policy excellence, and patriotic service in pursuit of national progress.
