@thetrainline tried to purchase my usual in app ticket today, but no luck - forced me to collect it from the station machines. Any idea why that might be today in particular - or is that a permanent change? Travelling in Northern Rail from Mossley Hill to Liverpool Lime St.
🗳️ On Thursday, voters across the country go to the polls to elect councillors, Mayors and Police & Crime Commissioners.
📈 The number of elected Greens has grown exponentially over recent years.
💚 Help us keep that momentum going by voting Green on Thursday

Pseudo politicians like Nigel Farage can’t be trusted to remain impartial. That’s why I’m telling @Ofcom to ban politicians from presenting on news channels to stop any bias on our news before the General Election. Can you sign too? https://t.co/uHdQ03Q7QL
@FisherPrice what on earth is all this excessive and complicated packaging. Have you ever heard a child’s cry as the parent tries to remove a gifted toy from one of your boxes? And surely this must be costing you more, financially and environmentally?? #SoMuchSellotape
@northernassist Found the answer later that day - strikes made the fares all low price! Just ended up paying more so I didn’t get caught out at the time.
@northernassist my rail app suggested todays commute would be entirely off-peak despite being in peak last week. Can you confirm if this is a mistake or Northern Rail has genuinely suspended the concept of off-peak in Merseyside? I can’t find anything online…
@cheedz05@MoneySavingExp I don't think we're blaming others - I'm not! We're just suggesting that the subject be taught in schools - I had PSHE lessons - that should have covered it, instead it was useless stuff I can't remember now. Glad to hear the schools you went all taught it - done correctly there!
@cheedz05@MoneySavingExp Haha, so where did you go to school? My school didn't teach economics at a domestic level. Nor did it suggest that I should learn it. You sound like your blaming the person for choosing ignorance rather than acknowledging the ignorance is not self-imposed.
@cheedz05@MoneySavingExp Which school did you go to? Yes, kids today have access to free learning resources that democratises this. However, my experience: I didn't know that I needed this information, and there will be kids today who are in a similar position - it'll be too late when they do realise.
🏘️ 3.17 million households were in fuel poverty in England in 2023 according to new data.
🤯 Yet Labour and the Conservatives don't have a plan to tackle it.
💚 Only the Green Party will invest properly in renewables and insulation to bring down bills and emissions FAST.
Can someone please tell how this has been allowed to happen - the approved planning is so far away from the ugly reality… @liverpoolpost please investigate and expose the delinquent, their architect and builder behind this horrid scar on our lovely city… @PlanningShit
@Tesco what focus group passed this as a good idea? Totally flavourless bar the taste of thick pear skin, and not remotely like any normal combination of food? My 9mth old and I both pulled the same face when we tried it…
Apparently I was the choice of voters on @bbclaurak to be PM.
That's flattering, thank you very kindly, but I'd rather wire my nipples to electrodes.
Our system is overly adversarial - mandating politicians to lie and sell policies they disagree with in order to hold the party line. It is structured with an official "opposition" designed to oppose for the sake of it.
Few can thrive in that environment. I believe in public service, but my mental health isn't robust enough. I wouldn't subject my family to it - would you?
Ps I admire politicians of all sides who try. Most I meet are actually trying to do good. But in the end to do that you have to play the system and be incredibly mentally robust.
@thetrainline I can’t access the “My account” pages on mobile. Chrome and Safari both just give me white-outs, with nothing showing. https://t.co/LRZKOBkf4M
