I am personally ready to leave this website, and get going on something else whilst we wait for a truly 'fair trade' social media platform. In the meantime, here's my account at BlueSky: @timquaker.bsky.social
I'm doing an online talk about my faith this weekend, hosted by Friends around Florida. You are very welcome to join. More info: https://t.co/29zcHX4cZG

Yesterday, AFSC organized #GoalsForGaza, a soccer tournament for young teens in #Rafah to offer a moment of joy but also send an important message to the world to demand #CeasefireNOW.

Today my colleagues at AFSC sent me these photos from the #Goalsforgaza soccer tournament which took place in Rafah this weekend.
I found the pictures quite emotional in a way I can't quite manage to articulate.
"You can’t shoot a wildfire and you can’t bomb a flood" - @Greenpeace@GreenpeaceEU react to a leaked EU strategy paper which focuses on more military spending and militarised responses to crises.
We've joined our Quaker partners, @FCNL, @FWCCAmericas @BritishQuakers, Quaker Peace and Social Witness, @QCEA, and @QuakerUNOffice to call for a permanent ceasefire, release of hostages and prisoners, and unrestricted humanitarian access in #Gaza. https://t.co/OVxKCpnDfa
Today sees the release of ‘Let There Be Light’ - a documentary exploring the pattern of harmful behaviours experienced under the leadership of Mike Pilavachi, a prominent figure in the UK Church. Our hope is for this film to be something of a care-package for the hurting, at the same time asking how we might become a healthier Church in the future. We know it won’t serve everyone, but we pray it will help some.
We tell our story to shine light and help validate other’s experiences. It would have been much easier to say nothing - but a culture of silence up until now has been a significant force. Other voices speaking into this documentary are Dr Diane Langberg (recognised for her 50 years of clinical work with trauma victims), Dr Chi-Chi Obuaya (a respected London Harley Street consultant psychiatrist) and Dr Amy Orr-Ewing (a regarded UK theologian with a passion to advocate for survivors of abuse.) The film also points to some key organisations who provide support in this area and also safeguarding resources for churches.
While speaking on a painful subject it’s also important to acknowledge all of the pastors out there faithfully loving those that God has entrusted to them.
This is a story Beth and I chose to tell. Our prayer is for the healing of yesterday’s wounds and a brighter, safer Church tomorrow.
Let there be Light.

“I am glad I was here. Now I am clear… All is well; the Seed of God reigns over all and over death itself. And though I am weak in body, yet the power of God is over all, and the Seed reigns over all”
I recently learnt of these last words of George Fox and find them very moving
CAAT: The UK is complicit in Israel’s killing of UK aid workers in Gaza
7 aid workers, incl. 3 UK citizens, were killed by a strike from an Elbit Systems Hermes 450 drone. It's powered by a R902(W) Wankel engine, made in UK by Elbit's UAV Engines Ltd(1/7)

This single live session is part of a series celebrating the 400th birthday of George Fox, in which key speakers assess Fox’s legacy from a variety of positions. In this session Lloyd Lee Wilson will consider Fox from a Conservative Quaker perspective.

📢 It's time to implement a #CeasefireNOW!
👀🇺🇸 Reminder @USUN@USAmbUN: UN Security Council resolutions are binding under international law. Failure would be unforgivable. https://t.co/tLUUxfXDMm
Today the UN Security Council passed a resolution calling for an immediate and lasting cease-fire in Gaza. The resolution was introduced by the elected members of the Security Council. Support was unanimous, except for the United States who abstained.
Next Saturday, AFSC and people around the U.S. will show solidarity with Gaza by making and flying kites in Washington, D.C. and in their communities. We hope you will join us to help amplify the call for a cease-fire that day. https://t.co/DwTismnClK
I learnt this week that colleagues at @afsc_org have provided 300,000+ people with life saving aid in Palestine.
'I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing.’
