Grateful for the collaboration between @gpcparadise and @PequeaValley to help create a shared staffing position to help kids. Katie Beiler is finishing her 2+ years of service as Birth to 5 Literacy Liaison and we’re celebrating tonight!
“It’s exciting to have other individuals affirm the work you are doing, and that was coming from the state of Pennsylvania… basically, they’re saying, 'What you are working on is really important and it’s really needed in the field.” - Prof. @iscott4 https://t.co/vSdiz61FkZ
Thanks @hgse and @iscott4 for the SHOUTOUT! Honored to be a part of bringing faith and education leaders to improve student outcomes. Check this out for a short video and article of our trip: https://t.co/Q7BO07jime
Reflecting on a powerful convening of faith and education @hgse the last few days. Great questions and robust dialogue around the intersection of faith and education. There’s so much room for growth in this space... and more to come... @PovertyBytes @gpcparadise
Looking forward to the opportunity to be a part of this and support the work of @hgse and @LIFE_hgse bringing faith based and educational leaders together to help kids.
@LIFE_hgse Is happy to welcome a convoy of cyclist from Pennsylvania , to @hgse on Monday, October 28th. Trust they have good weather during their travels. Convoy includes PA State Secretary of Education, Pedro Rivera and members of @SDoLancaster!
We are excited to cheer on these bikers that are biking from Paradise to @LIFE_hgse in Massachusetts in just a few weeks! Thank you @pedroarivera2 for supporting our school community! #PVLiteracy
So in just under 3 wks I'm biking to Harvard. From Lancaster, PA. Why? Because @hgse believes one way to increase student outcomes is partnering faith based & educational organizations together around the country. And I think that's a pretty good idea. So to Cambridge I go...
...with my great disdain for riding in cold weather... and the real pain of cramps I get when I ride long distances... and the arthritic knee I've just been diagnosed with. But honestly, my obstacles are minor compared to those many under-resourced kids face in their journey...
Really valuable two days at the annual AHA Poverty Conference learning how to further develop PV’s Together Initiative to support our community! Identifying how to identify and understand the impact on those living in an under-resourced environment and how to support was key!
It might be more possible than we think to bridge divides and make a difference. This group of education, social service, business, church, government, health and housing leaders is a great encouragement to me - meeting regularly to tackle complex problems facing our community.
Took a tour today of the new @uwlanc offices! Great space to keep doing great work in our county. The tour finished at this table that I lingered at for just a bit too long...
Proud to partner with such an innovative school like @PequeaValley! Today’s convocation led by @erikorndorff12 and others is another example of a school driven by what’s best for their kids.
So thankful for the work of @PVLiteracy and our partners in our community helping the youngest among us get off to a great start! @gpcparadise@PequeaValley@uwlanc @PovertyBytes
“During the first five years of life, a child’s brain is like a race car — engines revving, tires spinning, vast distances covered. The brain grows at its fastest rate during these years, creating unrivaled opportunities for learning.” https://t.co/ZjvI7i9CWW
Thinking "you first" not "me first" is not just about being nice, it's about developing the discipline to choose trust over fear in all the daily ways this shows up. #gracepoints#trustme
Join us for the continuation of "Trust Me" at 10am tomorrow!
Awesome group addressing educational, business, medical, spiritual and social challenges with collaborative solutions! These people are crossing boundary lines to put kids and families first! @erikorndorff12@uwlanc@gpcparadise @PovertyBytes @Lanc_Chamber
