@nypost So she was caught - the system worked, right? She said she has been here 30 years, and received "legal permanent resident" status. She made a bad assumptions that was the same as citizen... but again, it was caught. If they can find this 1, why can't they find all the others?

@QuantumGuard17 It was the prosecutors who chose to charge the defendant under Involuntary Manslaughter - which typically has a sentence of 2-3 years. So this judge had effectively sentenced him on the max and added another year on enhancement and then five years of probation.

Do we have laws and processes that need to be followed or not? What's the consequences of someone just walking into your home through an open door - do you welcome them?

@Breaking911 That's weird, you need to REGISTER to vote. You Register by proving your identity & providing a signature (in the states I've lived in - and that's many).
So you already DID provide proof of Identity.
I mean it's no problem to show ID, but we've agreed to do that at registration.
