The prevalence of the “don’t want to be disrespected, then win” crowd defending #Michigan is evidence of a much broader cultural trend of ongoing deconstruction of mores, especially those representative of restraint, respect and humility. It’s not a good trend.
@Walmart Considering canceling our Walmart+ subscription after how we were treated in store today. Who can I talk to about this?https://t.co/fMxS0vcpC1
@dougponder I find it ironic because usually people posting go through a couple stages of realization. Stage 1: Trump must have cheated and not counted millions of democratic votes. Stage 2: Wait, it looks more like Biden cheated if you stare at it.
@dougponder An ironic form of denial I've seen is the "where are all the missing votes?" posts, along with the #TrumpCheated hashtag. They usually have this very misleading graph (note the truncated y-axis). Simple answer: 17M still outstanding. Good breakdown here: https://t.co/DkLBn8V5qX
Where are the "missing" votes?
They're coming, and I'll show you.
Perhaps you've seen this chart circulating. Let me show you why it's wrong, and demonstrate to you that this year's totals will slightly exceed 2020's. 1/
@drantbradley The impulse to immediately doubt the statistic and assume that Catholic Priests had a higher % / per capita was very revealing. The receipts show the opposite (public school had higher % of both students and employees involved in abuse)
@derekradney I think this conversation may be confusing matters of degree and substance. There's an autonomous authority somewhere. The PCA places that authority between the local church elders and Christ. By your definition, the General Assembly is an autonomous church.
I love preaching rotations, but reject the reasoning here. I've sat under leaders who preach a faithful diet of Christ-centered expository sermons week in and week out. It beats "powerful inspiration" significantly over time.
If I’m honest, I don’t think anyone can deliver a powerful message in today’s context 48 times a year.
As my friend Jeff Henderson hauntingly asks leaders, “How many truly great messages do you have in you per year?” The first time he asked that question, I thought, “Um, zero.” But the real answer isn’t 0 or 48. It’s probably under 30, though. Maybe it’s closer to 20.
Which is why team teaching is such a great idea. Not only do you not have the pressure of preaching 48 times a year, but the congregation gets exposed to different voices and different styles.
When I was a younger preacher, I was too insecure to want to have other preachers who might be better than me stand up to preach. These days, I crave it.
@Mcclainseanm@getnickwright you know that throw would have been a PI had it not been caught. Flag already thrown. Not sure the game was that effected by the 3 extra yards

@GarciaTalks Story will be if Lions can run. Mismatch there vs. Niner D.
D-line has been good all season and will pressure Goff. He'll get the full treatment unlike the mobile "set the edge" focus (no stunts, etc) given to Love. Still, 18 pressures & forced INT's.

Defensive Pressures vs. Packers, PFF:
1. Nick Bosa, 7 (5 QB hits)
2. Arik Armstead, 5
3. Chase Young, 3
3. Javon Hargrave, 3
Top-4 delivered 18 pressures. They didn't have a sack, but forced Jordan Love to step out of the pocket, leading to the last INT.
@GarciaTalks Counterpoint: Niners match up great against Lions.
Niners O vs Lions D = biggest mismatch on the field.
Niners D stuffs run, shuts down TE's & receiving RBs.
What metric has Goff > Purdy?
Niner D vulnerable vs mobile QBs w/ multiple great WR's. Lions have neither.
