Speaking of IRS penalty abatement 👇

For individual 1040 filers with Failure-to-Pay penalties, relief is typically requested using Form 843 when seeking reasonable cause abatement. (For other penalties this form will need to be tweaked a little)

For tax years 2020–2022, COVID-related hardship has often been a relevant factor.

Important: the taxpayer must be fully compliant before penalty relief is considered.

Penalty abatement is not automatic—it depends on facts and how the reasonable cause argument is presented under IRC § 6651 standards.

No friends. Attorneys cost way too much money..

There's typically a LT/LTR/or CP in the top right corner. Drop that in Google or AI and it'll give you a direction. Toss it.. inquire with someone about it..or in 30 -60 days "Well Sheit.. my paycheck is getting garnished or "I can't get any money out of my bank account so how am I gonna buy/pay..."
