@KeithOlbermann Would an IL stint be required afterward so it wasn’t exploited? I see a loophole in this. I see Gary Sanchez getting replaced defensively late with “shoulder tightness” a lot.
@JasonLawhead So good. I like that the further back you go, you get the feeling the play by play guys didn’t pre-script and practice their calls. Or maybe I’m just tired of Joe Buck.
@JasonLawhead You just know the Cardinals are going to beat whoever ends up 2nd in that division. The Cards who won a WS while barely finishing with a .500 record. And that ride in 2011. They’re the horseshoe franchise. The direct opposite of a certain snakebitten Ohio baseball team.
@schaaptop Don’t dislike the saturation. Do dislike the never critical nature of the coverage of the Jays because of said conglomerate. Every player is a pillar of the community, every manager, coach, GM, infallible. It’s the reason it’s difficult to watch the pregame or postgame.
@JasonLawhead When he threw the ball over the center field wall in KC, Tito was pissed off, but didn’t seem surprised, which was telling. Then MLB did their best to make him a fun “personality” of the game, like he’s Fidrych.
@JasonLawhead Ricky was, in a way, the most dangerous player who ever played. His single MVP award shows the lack of imagination, and obsession with trad’l stats, of voters in that era. If his career started 20 years later, he’d have multiple MVP awards (if his mgr let him steal bases).
@JasonLawhead Was Ripken disliked inside baseball? Never occurred to me until Greg Zaun (himself a real piece of work) claimed Ripken was a bit over zealous in his hazing (and then weirdly said he was cool with it). Made we wonder if Ripken was less beloved by his peers than he was by fans.
