BREAKING: PayPal Adds $PI to Its Crypto Payment Ecosystem?

PayPal’s developer ecosystem reportedly now lists Pi Network ($PI) among supported assets for its “Pay with Crypto” program.

If confirmed, this could allow users to spend $PI at eligible U.S. merchants, with PayPal handling real-time crypto-to-fiat conversion.

Along with the new Node 0.6.2 release, Pi has completed an initial distributed computing functionality test through SoloHost with five volunteer Node runners.

The devices operated by all five participants successfully completed the computing tasks sent to them automatically through a SoloHost app.

The test validated the end-to-end flow of tasks across real devices, including connecting to a Pi coordinator, receiving and processing computing jobs, and reporting results back.

OpenPay Can Now Send OUSD Directly to Pi Wallet

OpenPay is taking another step forward in connecting with the Pi ecosystem.

Users can now send OUSD directly from OpenPay to a Pi Wallet, making it easier to transfer OUSD and manage funds across both ecosystems.

To receive OUSD, make sure you enable OUSD in your Pi Wallet under Tokens before initiating a transfer.

This feature is currently available on Testnet only, as the OUSD token has not been officially released yet.

The only thing we are waiting for now is for the Pi Core Team to release the tokens. Once OUSD is officially released, this functionality will be ready to move toward full Mainnet use.

More updates are coming as OpenPay continues building a more connected and practical payment ecosystem.

This question reveals the true philosophy of Pi Network.

### The Deeper Philosophical Reason:

These pioneers locked a very high percentage of their mined Pi (90% or even 100%) for a full three years — at a time when Pi had almost no market value.
They actively reduced circulating supply, supported network stability, and proved long-term loyalty long before any real price or market existed.

The Core Team refused to force them to sell part of their holdings or buy Pi from external exchanges just to be able to participate.
Instead, they gave them fair priority that acknowledges their genuine commitment and ensures they can still take part even if they have limited unlocked Pi.

### Official Rule (According to PiRC):

Any user who has:
- An **active lockup of ≥ 90%** of their mined tokens
- For a duration of **at least 3 years**
- At the time of a token launch that was **created before February 20, 2026**

automatically receives a standardized **Baseline PiPower** (a fixed base value defined by the platform).

### Official Calculation Mechanism:

PiPower for each participant is calculated using the following formula:

Where:
- \( StakedPi_i \): The amount of Pi the user has staked for this specific launch

- \( PiPower_{Baseline} \): The additional base power granted exclusively to long-term lockers (≥ 90% for 3 years)

In simple terms: even if your staked amount is small or zero, the Baseline still gives you a meaningful allocation capacity.

### The Bottom Line:

This design is not just a technical detail…
It is a clear message from the Pi Core Team:

**Long-term loyalty and real contribution matter more than liquid capital.**

In the Pi Network, those who committed early and sacrificed liquidity for the sake of network stability are rewarded — they are not forced into the cycle of buying from exchanges just to claim their rightful place in the Launchpad.
