@andrewmccalip That’s exactly why the famous German TÜV was created. https://t.co/FhR4hQ3na1
Often annoying but I’m sure they saved countless lives over the years
@SawyerMerritt The quote in the article is also just plain wrong. Of course there are Level 2 systems that work hands off approved in Europe. One example being Fords Bluecruise…
@klaehnr@BellikOzan Also, all of these are technically not laws but Building regulations code. (Bauverordnungen) of course they have to be followed. (Should they be easier, for sure, but if you build houses yourself you realize nearly every Verordnung makes sense to handle an edge case.
@klaehnr@BellikOzan You make it out like you go to prison for misusing a garage. Jeez calm down. This is so that you are allowed to build a garage even if the zoning laws would not allow you to build a bigger house on that piece of land.
I think you feel like it’s easy to manage millions of people
@klaehnr@BellikOzan When you build a house you file a plan based on your local building code. The you build that house. Then you use it based on what you filed. Not sure what is Crazy about this process
@BellikOzan And guess what. Nobody would care ;-)
But hey, if you happen to find yourself in the west of Germany let me know, I’ll show you around. We‘ll discuss if you like to live here afterwards.
@BellikOzan There are lots of reasons why the startup culture is much stronger in the US, but garage use is not one of them. This is just pushing an agenda. Do we have too many regulations? Yes. Is the garage a problem? No. Is it nice to live in CA but also nice to live in Germany? Yes!
@BellikOzan As I mentioned, it depends on where you are in the US. But let’s not pretend Germany is a place with draconian laws when there are the same laws in parts of the US too
@BellikOzan Sorry this post is pure ragebait bullshit. This has nothing to do with a draconian law. If you have a garage you have it so the car is not on the street. This is the function of a garage. As Gemini responded in my question, this is the same for many homes in the US…
@BellikOzan The main point of the post is that you can‘t start a company in your garage in Germany. But you can’t either in the US. Or the other way around, if no one bothers you you can do it in both countries. (1/2)
@BellikOzan https://t.co/F3VR30SuNV
I promise you nobody in Germany will bother you if you have your homeoffice in your garage…
I actually felt the US had more laws (probably not surprising given that I lived in CA). 😅
@BellikOzan Gemini says the same thing. Grok is overloaded so can’t ask. I lived in both countries. It definitely didn’t feel like there are less laws in the US ^^
