Just finished this book on Christian growth which has had a profound impact on me. Thanks to @daneortlund for such wonderful insights. Chapter 8 on Breathing (inhaling Gods Word, exhaling prayer) is pure gold.
"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13) Today we remember our fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice. #MemorialDay
.....for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy. - Psalm 63:7. The best place to sing; not in the spotlight, but under the shadow of the Almighty.
‘In Jesus Christ we are given a friend who will always enjoy rather than refuse our presence...He isn’t waiting for you to trigger his heart; he is already standing at the door, knocking, wanting to come in (Rev. 3:20)’ @daneortlund what a friend we have in Jesus!
David Platt: “People today are not starved for great music. They’re not starved for entertaining speeches. People today are starved for the greatness of God. And if they don’t see his greatness in our worship, then where will they see it? On television? In movies?”
'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me...’
Mt. 15:8-9. Easy to line up what we say w/how we ‘feel,’ but the heart is more, & more is req’d - our words should match who we are, who and what we love, and what we do.
“It is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.” —Philippians 1:9–10
Remembering the trip of a lifetime exactly one year ago that included Ephesus. Even these magnificent ruins crumble, but God’s Word abides forever, “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace!“ Eph. 1:7
Just finished this inspiring work on leadership principles gleaned from the lives of Ernest Shackleton, President Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Dietrich Bonhoeffer & Rachel Carson. Highly recommend. Thank you @nancykoehn
"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13). Thank you to all the men and women who selflessly serve and make the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms. #MemorialDay2020
Today is Memorial Day in America. Now more than ever, we will remember and honor all the men and women throughout the generations who defended our freedom at the cost of their lives. God bless them all and God bless America. https://t.co/6b83UsopZv
