It was obvious from the beginning Trump and Vance were there solely to extort Zelenskyy in a mafia style shake down.
Never once did they suggest a release of the women and children held captive by Putin
Never once would they concede that Putin was the dictator and the aggressor.
Never once did they provide any reason for Zelenskyy to trust them.
Never once did they show an ounce of good faith.
They degraded, belittled, bullied, talked over him, and then told him he couldn’t talk.
This was a trap for them to win points with Putin. They may have won that prize.
They lost the respect of the rest of the world. Every person who voted for this should be ashamed. They should take pause and figure out what it is in their hearts that made it okay to be on the side of evil, yet claim to be people of faith.
Today marks the day that the United States became the enemy. The day the U.S. became the most untrustworthy country in world. You had a good run. But today marked the end of the U.S. whatever was good and made you all proud was thrown in the trash today, and 77 million of you are to blame.
Congratulations to President Trump on his fair-and-square win (See how easy that is, Republicans?).
Last time he was elected, I was a teacher who had never thought of leaving education, but his 2016 win so disturbed me that I got up off the sidelines and ran for political office--and flipped a seat from red to blue! Many other women did too (see Senators McMorrow and Bayer in the MI Senate).
This will all happen again, with a new crop of women, so thanks to the President-elect in advance.
The arc of progress is long, so people like me are not deterred and will continue to do everything we can to help Michiganders live dignified and prosperous lives.
Onward! 🇺🇸
My wife was denied life saving abortion care, multiple times by multiple doctors & hospitals. She bled for 4 days until I found her unconscious, & barely alive.
Our wives & daughters are counting on us!
26 days. VOTE. 💔💙 #RoeVember2024#RoeTheVote
Donald Trump may have pretended to change his position on abortion 6 times in 6 days but the reality is he killed Roe and will be happy to enact a national abortion ban if given the chance.
Pass it on
Martha Alito's thinking:
"A black woman married to a Jew? Are they trying to kill me?"
"I'm hanging my flag upside down from a confederate statue"
"I told Sam to make this illegal, or sleep in the den"
"This has ruined my book club, where each month we burn a different book"
JAIME IS ALWAYS WATCHING!!! Today, is my 25th Wedding Anniversary, and it will also go down in history as the day that the Biden Administration announced the life saving expansion of Background checks. 25 years ago my wife and I stood together and said "I Do." As all married people do, Jen and I had a life plan that included in sickness and in health and for better or for worse. We committed to love one another and to make each other happy. We have been tested. Our life plan took a body blow. Because of what happened to our family, our vows were put to the test. Over the past 6 years, because of gun violence, we had to learn to love new things about each other. We had to learn to accept different needs from each other. We had to learn to find happiness together, when all that we saw was darkness. Together, every day, we are moving forward and finding happiness together as we owe it to each other, to our son Jesse, and to our daughter Jaime who would want that for us. Because of how much I love my wife, two weeks ago, in front of so many who we love, and with Jesse watching us and Jaime watching over us, we stood together and said "I Do" again. Today, as I celebrate with my wife and my son, it is not lost on me that it will also forever be the day marked by this expansion in background checks. I know that Jaime is looking on from above, sending love to my wife and I and proud of her dad for helping to bring America to this safer place.
Elections have consequences. Thank you @POTUS for your relentless commitment to reducing gun violence and saving lives. This executive action will result in the largest expansion of Background Checks since the passage of the Brady Bill. The known loopholes are closing. Months ago, following the announcement of this rule change, America had a chance to respond and 75% of those who commented were in favor. They understood that because of this, America will be safer.

Years ago, anthropologist Margaret Mead was asked by a student what she considered to be the first sign of civilization in a culture.
The student expected Mead to talk about fishhooks or clay pots or grinding stones.
But no.
Mead said that the first sign of civilization in an ancient culture was a femur (thighbone) that had been broken and then healed. Mead explained that in the animal kingdom, if you break your leg, you die.
You cannot run from danger, get to the river for a drink or hunt for food. You are meat for prowling beasts. No animal survives a broken leg long enough for the bone to heal.
A broken femur that has healed is evidence that someone has taken time to stay with the one who fell, has bound up the wound, has carried the person to safety and has tended the person through recovery.
Helping someone else through difficulty is where civilization starts, Mead said."
We are at our best when we serve others.
Be civilized.

JUST IN: A federal judge has just ORDERED Llano County Texas to return "all books" that were removed from their libraries due to their content or viewpoint.
Library patrons successfully argued that "content-based restrictions" were likely unconstitutional.
The Texas judge is also prohibiting the officials from removing any more books while a lawsuit remains pending.
The books that were banned included a book for teens that calls the Ku Klux Klan a terrorist group, Isabel Wilkerson’s “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents” and a comedic children’s book with three stories from Dawn McMillan’s “I Need a New Butt!” series.
The decision could set wide reaching precedent in light of recent book banning in Florida, supported by Ron DeSantis.
What a great victory for books! 💙
As I sit here crying for my family & our loss of Jaime 5 years ago in Parkland, I'm watching the press conference in Michigan where treating physician is crying. Gun violence breaks families & breaks communities. BEFORE IT IS YOUR LOVED ONE, DEMAND WE FIX THIS ONCE & FOR ALL.
Being gay is not a sin.
Neither is being lesbian, bisexual, or transgender.
The Bible never claims that it is.
It really doesn't.
Christians should stop saying it because it's reckless and irresponsible—and it's killing people.
