"write me a song and put your lover's voice on it, what the fuck is wrong with your head?"
"oh i tried to write you the prettiest song in the world, but i got distracted, and i didn't"
my fave part of book lestat is that he's set up to be this kinda angry noble Dracula esque figure from Louis' POV and then in TVL he greets you w a fistful of glitter and a kiss on the cheek and you're like oh okay. Louis read Wuthering Heights too much as a teen
lestat chanting "why why why" while louis reads the questions lestat has written "why is louis trying to hurt me?" "oh my dear claudia, why?"— is absolute cinema
something really meta happening right now with iwtvtwt refusing to engage with lestat's character further than his sex appeal and "mayonnaise villain with sociopathic tendencies" as we watch a season where he navigates a landscape where everybody views him exactly the same way
we often praise the actors for emotionally tense scenes but this is a good example of how light-hearted scenes could end up unremarkable in the hands of lesser actors. sam & jacob’s iconic line deliveries & priceless expressions make this SO rewatchable.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but as someone who literally works at a magazine I can tell you the increased media coverage and placement on magazine covers for this season wasn’t part of AMC’s marketing budget. The magazines reach out to THEM, not the other way around.
tvl deserved at least ten episodes i will never forgive amc for pouring money into flopmasca which got cancelled after one season instead of their best show that’s keeping their lights on
louis had a straight laced serious relationship and it led to a 6 day coke fueled crashout where he screamed in armand's face how boring he was, tried to kill himself then proceeded to be tortured by armand for days. I thought we all understood louis actually likes the dramatics.
