A4: I try to laugh and smile. It is difficult sometimes to truly think about this, but once it becomes ingrained, I find you approach challenges with fun! My kids fill out report cards for me every quarter & they always say SMILE MORE! #bmoreEdchat
@MsAmberChandler @dreambition@sevenzo_org I use groups during the ELA block. Ss rotate between four stations. I also implement group work during math stations to reinforce previously taught concepts. The groups provides opportunities for children to learn from their peers & work collaboratively #flexibleSEL
@MsAmberChandler A14: I do not want standards for SEL. "They" would give us some way to measure/prove it and I feel that would take away from importance of it. I would prefer training, tools and ideas to implement #flexibleSEL
I agree with Jenny. I'm also a personal aide & I spend time trying to teach all of the Ss that everybody does things at their own pace or needs different things to succeed. https://t.co/uibDh7n1XC
@MsAmberChandler #flexibleSEL Q23A23 as a personal aide there isn’t much I can “address “ in the classroom, but I do spend a great deal of time helping how to make sure my autistic S is accepted by the other Ss and to help them to understand my S as well
#flexible SEL Q24/A24 3 issues that schools should do a better job addressing in my opinion would be:1) The overkill of parents involvement where they are disrespecting the integrity of their child's teachers. 2) Not allowing Ss to fail.3) 2 many meetings that are unproductive.
Q19/A19 It's very sad there is bullying. It seems to affect Ss at a younger age now. Schools need to really respond when it is brought to their attention. It can affect someone for a long time. #flexibleSEL
Q18/A18 I think having Ss working together on something helps build relationships no matter what age. Putting Ss together that normally don't hang out together can bring them together. #flexibleSEL
Q17/A17 I think being in an elementary school makes it easier. They are willing to tell you about their day or what is happening in their lives. I always ask what they are doing afterschool or on the weekend or what they did. #flexibleSEL
@MsAmberChandler #flexibleSEL Q19A19 Bullying just makes sad... sad for the bully(who knows what they have been through that causes them to behave this way?) and of course the person on the receiving end.. how it will impact them.. breaks my heart
Q12/A12 As an Aide in 1st grade, I feel one of the most important things I need to do is listen to them & encourage them to try their best. Also to help them deal with disappointing issues.
@MsAmberChandler #flexibleSEL Q1/A1 Although it can be a tough thing to do for many people, I actually feel that keeping an open mind to other opinions is extremely https://t.co/xSUhZiKOqC never know what you might learn from others.
Q14/a14 My thoughts are very basic, kindness to emphasized K-5th, it is modeled for students are reminded to always be kind for we don't know what friends are living with cuz we don't live there. There are reasons for behaviors.#flexibleSEL
