Things readers shouldn't have to apologize for:
1. Always carrying a book.
2. Re-reading our favorites.
3. Staying up until 4am to read.
4. Being tired because of said 4am reading.
5. Nagging friends about returning "borrowed" books.
6. Falling in love with fictional characters.
not caring about things doesn’t make you cool. being passionate is cool. enjoying a work of fiction and falling in love with the characters is cool. sincere, unashamed investment in a cause or fandom is very cool.
Until I got into the book reviewing community, I never realized that it was "bad" to enjoy certain authors. For example, I love Cassandra Clare's book. Apparently that's a big no in the book community. I think people should be allowed to like what they want💁
Hey creators, don’t feel guilty about self promotion.
Stop calling it a “shameless act”
You took the time and effort to make something, you should be able to tell people “Hey I worked hard on this and I think you will like it.”
Be proud of yourself.
Person: hey wanna hang out today?
Me: *procrastinates answering because I can’t decide if I actually want to socialize or if I’ll have the mental energy or if feel like leaving my house and cancelling my plans of doing nothing*
*five days later*
Me: sorry I can’t lol
