Also, will the city increase #9 Boundary services since the Greater Vancouver Food Bank moved out east here? Lots & lots of people waiting with full grocery carts, strollers, etc.
@TransLink The EB 20 at #50938 Hastings/Hawks keeps getting delayed the past 15+ minutes. Do you know if there's a delay with the firetrucks on Hastings a couple blocks west, or some other delay? Thanks in advance.
Tell @JNJNews their attempts to evergreen the patent on the life-saving tuberculosis drug bedaquiline is unjust and a violation of their corporate credo: https://t.co/6LJZ39ltVj
And then tell the world that Johnson & Johnson is denying MILLIONS access to life-saving TB treatment.
TB is not just the deadliest infectious disease of right now; it's also the deadliest infectious disease of all time. Imagine how much you could help by showing the world an affordable, effective path to ending the scourge of our oldest and deadliest illness. DMs open.
Johnson & Johnson (@JNJGlobalHealth) is unjustly extending a patent on a life-saving tuberculosis drug. Today's the day for them to realize denying MDR-TB patients treatment is not worth the harm they're causing to core brands like Tylenol and Neutrogena. https://t.co/JArPHWpmv5
An open letter to @JNJNews. Stop pursuing the secondary patent of bedaquiline. YOU KNOW that millions of people will be unable to access lifesaving treatment for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis if you extend the patent. YOU KNOW it violates your credo. https://t.co/JArPHWpmv5
@JNJNews @JNJGlobalHealth must commit to withdrawing filings for and not enforcing secondary patents on bedaquiline, especially in high-burden countries for TB, MDR-TB, & TB-HIV.
In part because you are monopolizing the distribution of bedaquiline, a life-saving medication that most people who need don't get because you keep the price of the drug artificially high.
Because of your bad business and ethics decision, MDR-TB can spread further and faster.
Because of your attempts to evergreen this patent, hundreds of thousands of people will die of multidrug resistant tuberculosis who could survive if affordable generics were available. You know this, but go on because you think the world won't notice. That, too, is racism.
YOU are extending the patent of bedaquiline in countries impoverished by racism and colonialism--like Sierra Leone. The bedaquiline patent SHOULD end 20 years after you filed it on July 18th, 2003. But you're extending it, denying people access to affordable lifesaving treatment.
Good morning @JNJNews. Today's gonna be a long day, admin, and I'm sorry about that, but we need your bosses to stop pursuing a secondary patent on bedaquiline and keeping six million people from being treated appropriately for multi-drug resistant tuberculosis. Video at noon.
@TransLink Why did our 9 Alma say we all needed to get off & take the 9 behind us (which only went to Granville & didn't stop) at 60552, but then 1/3 of us got off as told & our bus drove off with everyone else still aboard? I'm now waiting 13+ min on a bad foot for no reason...
@TransLink No I don't have a coach number, I was busy following the driver's instructions and trying not to twist my injured foot. Why did the driver do that?
In past years, we've marked the beginning of Pride month, but with transphobia and homophobia viciously prominent, here are dojo members from this morning, each wearing a belt with a color from the Pride flag in support of the human right to be who you are and love who you love.
@TransLink WHERE do we board the detoured EB 99 that would be EB Broadway @ Alma? Next Bus ETAs = crossed out, sign just says "board at Alma" but not WHERE, we're waiting at 50314 NB Alma @ W 10 Ave but that Next Bus only has the 7 & 14, and none of those drivers know RE: the 99.
@TransLink Hi, any word on the WB 99 at stop #50913 Commercial/Broadway? The "real-time" bus was supposed to come 5-10 min ago but disappeared & there's a ton of folks waiting, and the next "real-time" bus ETA keeps getting later. Thanks in advance!
