@VaperNt @hollieahughes @SidStevens7 @ColinMendelsohn @ATHRA_AU@AlexWodak@drjoesDIYhealth Absolutely! Especially since I had no intention of quitting, just wanted to see if I could cut down. I never tried patches/gums etc ... maybe I will if/when I decide I want to quit vaping, but really hope vaping is made as accessible as possible for all Aussie smokers.
@VaperNt @hollieahughes @SidStevens7 @ColinMendelsohn @ATHRA_AU@AlexWodak@drjoesDIYhealth Exactly this! Just crossed the 1 year mark myself and didn't need to alienate any of my smoker friends. It's a familiar smell with familiar feelings attached. Doesn't bother me or spark the cravings as long as I have my vape on hand.
@ama_media@amapresident What is the official definition of non-smoker? References/links would be great please. Guessing this varies depending on who is defining it.
@LabworksVapes If you rewind a bit, when asked the question if vaping is less harmful than smoking, there was another "no comment" type response. A mere moment before that, she congratulated Sen Hughes, who flashed her vape, for "quitting smoking and doing the best thing for her health". ππ€¦ββοΈ
@LivePippas @hollieahughes @mattjcan I kinda get why she didn't want to answer questions like "carcinogens/chemicals in cigs". Likely because the follow up questioning would've been to get her to admit that vaping is less harmful than smoking. Once that statement is made, her other arguments unravel a fair bit.
@LivePippas @GregHuntMP @hollieahughes @mattjcan I'm curious to find out the eligibility criteria for the included studies, if the included studies actually met the criteria, if the eligibility criteria itself is flawed, and what "3x more likely to smoke cigarettes" quantifies to. I think these were all questions on notice.
@hbowly@AlexWodak The sneakiness is in the question ... Let's flip and fix it ...
Are there any harm reduction drugs for legally sold CONSUMER PRODUCTS that currently require a prescription?
@AlexWodak@ATHRA_AU Wouldn't most, if not all harm reduction drugs be geared towards reducing harm for prescription/illicit substances, not other consumer products like ciggies? (over-the-counter NRT aside).

@TahirTturk Tahir: There is another issue Cochrane's systamic review could not cover. Many ex-smokers who vape say they "quit by accident." No one ever quit by accident with NRTs, Chantix/Champix or cold turkey. Reaching smokers who have no intention to quit should be a thing. No?
Well thatβs all well & good for you Richard but do you realise that you quit smoking using an unapproved method! Approved methods include cold turkey & range of pharmaceutical interventions which also rarely work
Commonsense from @SenatorAbetz on #vaping
"Nicotine should be made freely available without the need for special import licences or prescriptions, just like tobacco which is so much more dangerous. I just don't understand it"
Neither do we Senator!
