so uh... anybody want a text-heavy, deep dive into spaceships in the Tinselfly universe? Because here's the beginning of one! With even more coming! (hopefully with more images as i talk less in generalities and more about specific areas of ships) https://t.co/1xXyN28kXp
sort of medieval spacefarer jacket, plus costume version of same for @tinselfly.
So I can crossfade between the two at an important moment.
Because that's totally gonna be a thing.
i think
spending snow days relaxing and working on a pleasantly inconsequential spacehip for @tinselfly with no real functional requirements other than... look kind of memorable and pretty from a distance

Making the tutorial level easier to parse!
-Stronger ambient occlusion to emphasize 3d forms.
-More colors!
-Tweaked geometry to make available player path more obvious.
-Better visual clues about what happened just before the player arrived.

Got a 4k monitor because sometimes people ask for 4k @tinselfly videos and... me and my 45 year old eyes were having lots of trouble with my laptop screen and it was relatively cheap. So here's a nearly 4k test video! (taken from the game editor)

You can now go anywhere on your ship using elevators! Which means I can start on this sequence where you see the ship start up from the inside, watching from the elevator as the crew runs about and pistons fire and bridge holos appear and sails light up.

decided the player should really get an establishing shot of the floating city in @Tinselfly before being thrown into it, so I spent a couple days modeling a ferry the player can start on, giving a brief glimpse of the city from a distance before landing

One more in-universe ad for @tinselfly, this time for floating parasols. I've hardly ever done this kind of smooth shaded painting look before but I'm really happy with how this one turned out and how authentically period it feels.
Started making some new in-universe advertising for Tinselfly. Trying to do a variety of ads in a variety of styles, but all on some level selling fantasies, or travel, or any kind of escapism, because write to your theme and all that.
Got my first ever pen display and absolutely love it!
For the first time ever, I feel like I can just... draw on a computer. The second illustration, the bicycle ad, was done entirely in @Artrage, no tracing of scanned-in pencil sketches needed.
It feels amazing.
Made a poster for a festival in Tinselfly.
But this isn't a poster. It will never be printed or displayed in a festival. It's not my best poster art. It's texture for a scene that contains, among other things, posters.
There's something really liberating about accepting that.
Updated @tinselfly opening so the focus is the game-in-the-game instead of worldbuilding... forgot how much I liked the seamlessness here...
...and how Mystlike it is--the tumbling gate to another world in a starry expanse...
