pake wins the battle of disk space, the runtime memory usage is a more complex story.
when it comes to ram, pake apps arent always lighter than electron, and they can sometimes use just as much -- or even more!
pake spawns the os's native webview to render the website. at this stage, you arent really measuring pake's efficiency -- you are measuring how much ram webkit or edge requires to parse and execute the website's js and css.
what marketing?!
I've seen so many posts asking to use this development as a warning to invest more into open source. a few others are calling governments, mainly within the eu, to consider this a red flag and hence, focus on building ai infrastructure.
besides, how a company that depends heavily on ai sees this as a green flag to continue using anthropic models?!!
not saying all these calls are going to translate into actions that take place in reality. they're, nonetheless, anything but good marketing.
@AI_dude_eu i keep telling everyone who criticizes and/or disagree with my tweets! they are paid by big tech, china, russia, and/or north korea.
these are very safe options to go with, esp if your target audience is western.
the eu is just waking up from a slumber, and it's not ready for many of the challenges faced due to lack in foundations.
that's a known issue which upon time may cease to exist. all of that, however, is but a wishful thinking if the eu is not serious about investing into building its own foundations.
meanwhile, they can use what is available, us or otherwise, until a local alternative is available ...
@UmbriciusR and here's the formula used for Chinese news:
- if it's bad news, about a person or town => China struggles with ...
- if it's good news => China did ___ + but at what cost?!
