i do think sukuna absolutely could be abusive to someone close to him but not in the typical human way people imagine when they hear “abusive.” he doesn’t strike me as the type to do all the manipulative mind games out of insecurity, jealousy or fear of abandonment because honestly he’s too self assured and arrogant for that. he doesn’t need validation, doesn’t crave reassurance and definitely isn’t the type to beg someone to stay.

with sukuna it would come more from his nature itself. he is selfish, cruel, violent and has little to no regard for other people’s comfort, boundaries or feelings. if someone was close to him, i think he’d simply expect them to accept every ugly part of him without complaint. his worldview is very much “i do as i please” and anyone around him either tolerates that or suffers because of it.

so would he be the kind of abusive where he sits there plotting emotional manipulation tactics? probably not. he’s not subtle or emotionally needy enough for that. but would being close to him realistically be unhealthy, intimidating and potentially dangerous because of his lack of empathy, entitlement and dominance? absolutely.

i think that’s what makes him interesting honestly. he may not be “that kind” of evil, but he is still fundamentally someone whose idea of closeness would be warped by the fact he simply does not function like a normal person emotionally. amen.
