Halloween memory:
When I was a little girl, my first year of grade school I had a TON of behavioral issues. Now know it was ADHD but also, I was a little shit.
Second grade rolled around. My teacher was Sherry Hyslop. And Mrs. Hyslop, I thought, hung the moon.
Some people seem to have forgotten how bad a president Trump was, so I made a list of the 100 Worst Things About the Trump Presidency, in no particular order. Please share and add anything I missed. 🧵
"Mundane Halloween" returns!
It's that time of year again, when Japanese website @dailyportalz holds its annual contest to dress up as something super ordinary.
Here's a thread of some of my favorites from the 2024 contest!
Does the tree waste its life if it stands still and feels the sun? Do the newts waste their lives sleeping under the leaves? Your purpose is to be, and you are excelling.
Pretty bummed as Valerie went to a home this weekend but was returned last night, once again by no fault of her own - a child in the home was severely allergic. I feel awful for this cat and how much she's been bounced around lately. She so badly wants to finally settle :(
yeah, you don’t see trans people and drag queens because they were systematically shut out of the movement after winning rights for white cis gay people
Medical misogyny is a serious issue that harms & kills women.
We’re all furious about what happened to Gisele Pelicot. Livid that more than 80 men were willing to rape an unconscious woman whose husband gave “permission.”
But did you know she went to her doctors for help? 🧵/1
An opportunity to ask people to support "beagle freedom" laws that require research dogs to be offered for adoption instead of routinely euthanized when they’re done with them.
Former research beagles generally make great pets. Typically released from labs ~1-2 years old (looks like the approx age of these pups), they're usually not house trained, can't walk on leash & may be poorly socialized w/people & other dogs, so it's like training a young puppy. I did have one released at age 5 & he was never quite "normal," but still a great little guy. Beagles generally like to have canine company.
had to write a calligramme (shaped poem) for french class and i got carried away making an english version cause i was getting mad that i didnt know the words i wanted to say
