Oregon has gone five years without a recorded pesticide-related bee kill.

After thousands of bees died in a Wilsonville parking lot in 2013, the state started a pollinator task force and the Oregon Bee Project. They trained pesticide applicators, land managers, and the public on how to use chemicals without wiping out bees.

An Oregon State University report this year said there have been no known pesticide-caused bee die-offs since 2021.

The warriors of the 95th Polissia Separate Air Assault Brigade are carrying out missions in the Oleksandrivskyi sector. It is one of the brigades that has made a significant contribution to preserving our state. Brave, strong, and absolutely honest warriors who look the enemy in the eye, are not afraid, and know that more of the enemy must be destroyed – then Ukraine will win. Today, together with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi, I met with the defenders at the brigade’s command post and presented them with state awards.

I also spoke with brigade and battalion commanders of the Airborne Assault Forces. Among the key issues were recruitment, mobilization, the involvement of foreign volunteers, AWOL cases, and providing units with the necessary weapons and equipment. We documented everything, and the task for the Commander-in-Chief and the Minister of Defense is to promptly meet these needs of our warriors.

I thank the defenders – each and every one of you who are holding our positions and defending our land. We are proud of you.

A security meeting on the frontline situation and defensive operations in key sectors. The meeting was attended by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi, Commander of the Airborne Forces Oleh Apostol, Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi, Commander of the 3rd Army Corps Andrii Biletskyi, Commander of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov” Denys Prokopenko, and Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov.

The main focus was on the actual state of affairs at the front, what is needed to increase the effectiveness of our warriors, and the situation in Zaporizhzhia. I instructed that the protection of the city and the region be strengthened, particularly those areas on which other cities and communities depend.

We are also enhancing the effectiveness of the defense of the Donetsk region. Two groupings will be established, to be commanded by Andrii Biletskyi and Denys Prokopenko.

I awarded the Order of the Golden Star to Heroes of Ukraine Andrii Biletskyi and Eduard Kolodii and presented other state awards to warriors taking part in the Oleksandrivska operation.

Thank you for defending our state in the most difficult sectors, everywhere Ukrainian roots run deep. The enemy always wants to cross out everything Ukrainian, because our history is longer than any Russian aggression and any history in Moscow. And this is something we must fight for. I am grateful to our warriors for their service and for the strength that enables us to preserve our independence.

Over the past day, our warriors imposed sanctions on 16 targets in Russia. In particular, there were long-range responses against oil facilities – Russia’s oil wallet that finances the war. They also struck airfields, a missile unit, and infrastructure that is constantly used to launch attacks against Ukraine. Our sanctions also hit a military enterprise and Russian logistics.

The war must return to where it came from. Ukraine responds to Russian strikes, and we do so in a way that ensures the cost of the war for the aggressor inevitably rises. We are justly reducing Russia’s capacity for aggression. I thank all the warriors involved for their accuracy! Glory to Ukraine!

The first time we honored our National Legends was on the 30th anniversary of the restoration of independence. After that, our country faced its greatest challenge – the full-scale war began.

Now we are marking 35 years. And we have our state, we have our independence, we have our strong warriors. I thank everyone in Ukraine who is defending and preserving our state, fighting for life. And I thank our friends and partners abroad who are making sure the world does not forget what is happening in Ukraine.

We are fighting not simply for survival. We are fighting for our independence, for our lives. We can do all this thanks to unity. I thank our National Legends especially for this unity. Thanks to unity, we will preserve our state and achieve victory. It is so important.

"Day and night, Ukraine, a great European nation, is being brutally destroyed before the eyes of the entire international community by Russian ballistic missiles and killer drones.

And all that the world community seems capable of doing is to convene a meeting of the UN Security Council and at best condemn Russia's war crimes and crimes against humanity being committed on a staggering scale.

And some choose instead to hide behind abstract formulas, avoiding even mentioning Russia - the country that launched this war of extinction against Ukraine and continues to wage it with impunity.

What a disgrace that to this day the UN Security Council has failed to take effective action, to hold Russia to account, and to prevent a daily genocide of the Ukrainian people carried out in plain sight of the world.

It is time to put an end to Russia's abuse of its veto power as a fig leaf, as an excuse for inaction, to stop allowing the aggressor state to hide behind the very privilege it has misused to shield itself from accountability.

We understand that this Council has its own traditions and unwritten rules, a kind of pact of mutual non-aggression, but we can see that this is a road to nowhere. Unless Russia is shown that no one will any longer tolerate this cynical course of prolonging and even escalating the war against Ukraine, while simultaneously shifting blame and spreading lies, these daily deaths of innocent people will weigh on the conscience of this Council.

This also concerns something as basic as human conduct: continuing business as usual, to shake hands with the Russians and behaving as though nothing is happening, discussing routine agenda items as if there were no genocidal war raging in the very heart of Europe is sending an absolutely wrong message. It creates the impression that Russia can continue its terror campaign against Ukraine and its independence without facing any consequences of its criminal actions." - @MelnykAndrij
