We've switched all our dev setups to localhost. Not only can it have subdomains, but it's also a secure context by default, so you don't need any SSL cert to use all the features that depend on that. We just reserve a specific port per app. So good, so simple.

@calebporzio Health insurance is such a scam. For non-routine preventative visits, it is almost always worth it to ask the doctor/hospital what the non-insurance cash price is. You can get 50% to 75% cheaper. Then you just have to weigh paying it outright vs paying into your deductible.

Most UI/UX designers love tooltips.

They’re an easy way to declutter the UI.

But the reality is that tooltips suck.

(1) Many users won’t notice them
(2) They’re annoying to use
(3) They obscure the UI

So what do you do?

@calebporzio Found it, StopTheMadness Pro has an option to "Protect Autocomplete" when this is checked your Autocomplete component page never loads and freezes. So ignore my previous comments, I'll just disable the extension on your site. Great work on Flux by the way.

@calebporzio Seems to be related to my content blocker in Safari. I see the Fathom script getting blocked but I wouldn't think that would tank the page. However, if I use a Safari Private Window or any other browser it loads just fine.

1/ Weekly 1:1s with direct reports are a staple of Silicon Valley management. The idea is to check in, see how they're doing, and provide feedback. I did this for 10+ years at Facebook & Dropbox. Frankly, I hated it and found it useless. But it's what "good" managers did.
