Buying mulch (and soil) in bulk means #noplasticbags go to landfill (theyโre not recyclable). It also means I wonโt have to worry about making multiple trips to the store, hurting my back carrying them or getting my car dirty ๐
Let the #zerowaste garden season begin! ๐โ๏ธ๐ฑ
I know what Iโll be doing over the Memorial Day weekend! ๐
I just received my annual delivery of bulk cedar mulch from a local garden center. This year I got 2 cubic yards to put around my garden beds and cedar hedge.

@Eric112499@ianmiles Yes, this isnโt all on women. The costs of housing, daycare and education are preventing many young people from having children.
@Sansa314159@VerseusGreekus@ianmiles Another way to force women to have children: Make abortion and birth control illegal. Problem solved! This is what the Republican Party in the U.S. is doing rather than valuing women and motherhood ๐
@BeeDee6@CharlotteEmmaUK Covid-19 appears to be oncogenic, meaning it has the ability to cause cancer in multiple organs. With so many people infected, we will likely see a significant rise in cancers.
Used cat litter made up about half my garbage bin with just one cat, so two cats means twice the litter. I doubt I can get back to one trash bin a year with my two furry friends, but theyโre worth it ๐ค
Hereโs to a fresh start! ๐ Happy new year, everyone!
4 months of trash to the curb today, and itโs full of $h!T ๐
This bin filled up pretty quickly thanks to two major changes at our house: a new tile floor in my family room and a second cat ๐๐โโฌ The tiling job was a one-time mess, but the cat is, well, a regular thing ๐
Meet Mocha, the newest member of our family ๐ We adopted this sweet, talkative girl in October. She was considered a compassionate adoption due to her skin condition, but weโre working on getting her better ๐ค
The body and turtleneck are made from one sleeve, her sleeves are made from the neckband, and the hem is made from the original hem. If I need another sweater for her, I could make a second one out of this same sweater. Or I could fix it up so weโd have matching sweaters! ๐
Iโm very happy with how my wreath turned out though my hands are still itching from the prickly juniper branches ๐ When I make next yearโs wreath, Iโll look for balsam, cedar or pine branches ๐ฒ
#diywreath#naturalwreath#tinytrashcan
Today I made my first ever, evergreen wreath! ๐คฉ
After several years, my artificial wreath finally gave out, littering the area where it was stored with plastic needles and Styrofoam berries ๐ข So I took it apart, threw away the plastic parts and saved the frame for future use.
I cut off some branches with pruning shears then tied them to my metal frame using jute twine. I then attached some foraged pine cones with metal ornament hooks. For additional scents and texture, I stuffed in some dried lavender and pine needles from my yard ๐
Need a cheap and easy #halloweencostume? I made this #DIY bat costume with a XXL black t-shirt I bought at a thrift store for $6 ๐ I already owned the black halter top and yoga pants (both hand me downs) so all I had to do was make the wings! ๐
#greenhalloween#tinytrashcan
For bat ears, I made two mini buns with my hairโno waste there! ๐ Since I'll be wearing this #halloweencostume to a Latin dance party, I needed something that would be comfortable and easy to move in. This lightweight, stretchy costume idea would also be great for kids! ๐
