As we talk about what happened at Cornell, there is a young Black woman student Kendall Francis down at LSU who also came forward this month to talk about the way LSU mishandled her report of sexual assault from a football player. She reported the assault immediately, went to the hospital and had a kit done. The school found him liable (Title IX); he admitted it. He was suspended but not for as long as is standard. Appealed. He was allowed to return to football, despite the finding.
Drugged a women and raped her. He Wants to be a doctor. If he escapes this time, he will be a predator lose in hospitals probably raping women in ICU. Ruin his life now.
The man who invented the operation that saves babies born with blue-baby syndrome had no medical degree, no college degree, and was listed on the payroll as a JANITOR.
He guided the first operation from a stool behind the surgeon's shoulder, telling him where to cut.
Vivien Thomas. He had been saving to study medicine when the 1929 crash wiped out his savings and the bank holding them.
He took a job as a lab assistant at Vanderbilt for a janitor's wage, because that was the classification available.
Within a couple of years he was running experimental surgery — developing techniques, performing operations on his own, training surgeons.
He moved to Johns Hopkins with Alfred Blalock in 1941, where he was still paid as a janitor and had to enter through a back door.
He was the only Black man in that building not carrying a mop.
He worked out the surgical fix for tetralogy of Fallot — the condition killing infants who turned blue and died — and built the instruments for it.
The first operation on a child was in 1944. Blalock, who had never done the procedure, asked Thomas to stand behind him and talk him through it.
The surgeons on the paper became world famous. Thomas was not credited.
Hopkins hung his portrait in 1971 and gave him an honorary doctorate in 1976. Generations of surgeons he personally trained insisted on it.
He was paid as a cleaner while inventing heart surgery.
Y’all watch yourselves on this internet. I replied to a tiktok and some white man called me a monkey. I reported him. Next thing I know a woman I’ve never met or spoke to dm’d me that she contacted his rugby team, the coach, and their sponsors behind that monkey comment.
Grew up on ANTM, quickly realized I was too short and shapely to be a supermodel. My mom noticed how glued I was to the tv and bought me a sewing machine. Now I am a costume designer 😊

I’ve been going to my father’s doctors appointment with him for the last year or so, he’s got early onset Parkinson’s - I take notes on everything, I record the entire appointment, i ask for copies of the recorded visit & charts, I am constantly speaking up about side effects of the medication he’s been prescribed, asking for lower doses, different variations. These fucking doctors will try to take advantage of you and shoo you out of the room after two seconds. Especially if you’re Black and elderly.
As a community we have to get more vigilant about saying point blank, I feel like you are dismissing everything I am saying and not providing quality care I would like a copy of my chart and this visit please, so they know you are also keeping a record. And then get on Google, zocdoc, healthgrsdes, vitals, ratemd, and get to rating these fuck ass doctors!
I just want to point out… the amount of money the U.S. has spent on war in the last 2.5 months is roughly the same cost that Bernie Sanders proposed for universal college. So the real question is never ‘can we afford it’… it’s what we choose to prioritize.
Monaleo & Stunna4Vegas celebrate one year being married and look at how beautiful he had their home set up for her when she was done working 🥹😍 wishing them both many many more years of love.
Her tire blew out. She pulled into a gas station, locked the doors, and waited for her family to come help.
When police arrived she was unconscious in the driver's seat.
They broke the window and fired twenty-three shots into the car.
Tyisha Miller. Riverside, California, December 1998. She was 19.
She was hit twelve times. Four officers fired.
No one was charged with anything. A grand jury declined. The Justice Department reviewed it and closed it.
The four officers were eventually fired by the city — and the police union fought that, too.
A nineteen-year-old waiting for roadside assistance, asleep behind a locked door, in a car that was not going anywhere.
Twenty-three shots. Riverside changed its entire police department after this, under state supervision. That is what it cost.
You know what happened to Tyisha Miller. But what happened to the hundreds of other cases that never became national headlines?
We went looking. The result is 150 Crimes Against Black America They Never Answered For—a collection of cases that deserve more than a paragraph in an archive.
