@dotMorten@TheJoeFin That's great but what I look for is a 100% and unlimited free tile service (and I don't mean self-hosted OpenStreetMap). That's what I get with Apples MKMapView and the Google Maps control on Android
@dotMorten@TheJoeFin Maybe we have different priorities, I just wanted to point out that there is a workaround/alternative for OAuth (at least one that works for me and my users) while there is none for Maps (that works for me) and that is why I looked forward a MapControl
@dotMorten@TheJoeFin I never had any problems with that appoach in the past and I do use it for Google, Facebook and many other OAuth services. Looks like a functional workaround to me... 🤷
@dotMorten@TheJoeFin I don't believe that my app is under 2 mio tile requests per month... Based on the data Microsoft provides, I had around 130.000 "map sessions" in the last 30 days. Only if each session requested ~15 tiles, I would be under the 2 mio that arcgis provides for free
@dotMorten@TheJoeFin And I use a simple ContentDialog + WebView2 as a workaround for that WebAuthBroker (which was super-buggy anyways). I wouldn't switch to a native control even if one was available. Or what speaks against such a workaround for OAuth?
@dotMorten@TheJoeFin I'd love to use your Maps SDK, sadly not a viable workaround for me, I couldn't cover those fees... Google and Apple provide powerful, native mapping out-of-the box, I expect the same from Microsoft.
@verasvasc Yes, the app has to be bought separately for each platform as the purchase is linked to your app store account. You can find more info about this in the app's FAQ. There is no such thing like a Diarium account
